Eight of Pentacles | Six of Pentacles

What are you building, or planning to build? Honestly, it’s looking good – and no-one could doubt your commitment to the unglamorous work of foundation-laying. This is your season of earth, of slow creation, of making real the ideas you’ve nurtured for so long. It may be a long time before any of this bears fruit, but you know what needs to be done and approach with devotion, care, and skill. Don’t forget that there is a world out there, filled with people who can help you. Community-minded but personally individualistic, it’s hard for you to reach out and ask for help, or to share your ideas and projects with others. This month as you celebrate your birthday, let this be your learning curve: how can you combine your lofty ideas and aspirations (and your ability to get the job done if only everyone would just leave you alone!) with those ideals you hold so deal, of community partnership, folks working together to forge a better way. It is a generous act to delegate, to allow others their space to give and shine. It is a relief to trust that others can do a good job too. No-one can ever take away the uniqueness of what you are creating personally, or do it in quite the same way, but this is a moment for sharing. Find what you want to keep for yourself and, if necessary, draw a boundary around it. Then find a way to open up the rest to folks you trust. And if you need to learn to trust first – so be it.

The Golden Tarot: the Visconti-Sforza deck – Packard – 2013 – Race Point Publishing.
Self-Care Cards – Richardson – 2001 – Hay House

There’s nothing like a good trump card to give us clear direction, let us know what big themes are active in our lives right now – what to look forward to, what to improve. Well, sorry Pisces, this month we’re going to have to do without the Major Arcana – but maybe that’s a good thing. How about we take a break from our quest for absolute truth (which can border on unhealthy obsession), and seek our own guidance, aided only by the King of Wands and Two of Cups? I know you thrive on strong father figures and firm boundaries (whether or not they’re healthy is another matter) to contain your sometimes wayward, floating world, but the cards suggest this is a month for living lightly. So be yourself. Have some fun.

The King of Wands is a cheeky young fella, part Petit Prince, part Siddhartha. Fire folk and wand-wielders are exciting to be around and they’ll certainly get you out of your shell, but be careful if you find yourself considering romance. This King might seem like the breath of fresh air you’ve been waiting for, a you-get-what-you-see kinda guy, but chances are he’s just not ready yet … and notice how he has both hands full – hardly the best position to make use of those two cups ready to toast on a brand new beginning. This isn’t to say that a fresh start isn’t in the cards. Pisces and Valentine’s Day were made for each other. So go ahead, live the dream, but remember to spike your drink with a few drops of that secret elixir known to boost any relationship through calm confidence and self-esteem. Love your Self enough and if worst comes to worst, remember that you are already complete: your astrological symbol features two fish, one for each cup.

Dear Aries,

What a month you have ahead! Perhaps this is the month where you come out the other side of the wringer, triumphant? Perhaps you defy the odds and surprise even yourself as you accomplish something that was taking so long to unravel, that you had begun to think you were trapped in a vortex full of swirling thoughts and complications?

Let the Wheel of Fate give you some help:

Just go with it all, Aries folk! Sometimes the path is smooth and sometimes it’s bumpy, but the path is always there, ready for you to follow.

And now, the Seven of Batons:

Oh, what challenges you create dear Aries! Don’t get me wrong, I admire your capacity to place yourself in do-or-die situations: indeed, I’m doing that right now, balancing on my high-wire! Just remember to take a deep breath and reconnect with why you put yourself in this situation in the first place. I believe it may have been because you want to grow, and to connect with something that gives you reason to keep going. I will help with that, but also know that sometimes you can do this without going to extremes.

Six of Batons, if you please?

I do please! I please many. I can smell good things in the air for you, Aries! Let me help you reach out to lovely friends for added assistance, and use my zing to recall all your interesting skills. With those unique ways of being in the world, surely you are bound to keep on creating a livelihood that suits your style?

But shhh, wait! There’s one more card! Two of Blades, what final words do you bring?

Don’t leap too soon, and don’t let anyone else try to tell you where you’re at! There is more information to come, so wait until you have all that you need to know before you make a big decision. You’re almost there, just pause, wait, and kaboom! You will do what needs to be done, and finally you can be free of some old and limiting constraints.

Mythical Goddess Tarot – Holloway & Skaggs – 2008 – http://www.starchalicesisters.com/products/mythical-goddess-tarot/

Beloved Taurus, I’m called to ask the cards about your heart space during this Aquarius cycle. You have been loyal and steadfast and true- in shadow, you may also have been stubborn, clingy, and bogged down. How have you loved family, friends, lovers, and creations? How have they loved you? Where can you perhaps find the space to heal and grow through these heart experiences?

Take this time to pause, check-in, and (re)consider.

This is the moment to ask yourself quiet and honest questions. Is who and/or what you give dedication to still filling you up in turn? If yes, then take the time to ensure that you are paying appropriate attention to all opportunities and lessons that come from the experience of loving and committing. What might you be missing that may renew that space and open up whole new treasures to you? If the answer was no, this might be a good time to pull back and check on your reserves, check on whether or not this is a worthy space to continue residing in. Is the focus of your love and desire as unquestionable as the love you know you give?

Tarot Everywhere & Oracle Everywhere by Over The Moon Oracle Cards, 2015

Tarot Everywhere & Oracle Everywhere by Over The Moon Oracle Cards, 2015

In the 3 of Wands, an adventurer climbs up on a fence to look out over a pasture. This month, Gemini, you’re getting a higher perspective on your life and envisioning your future. After making some serious resolutions, you really want to see them bear fruit. There are a lot of seeds you wish to plant in your field of dreams but you’re not quite sure how they will develop.

In the 2 of Pentacles, a pasture is shown in two stages of growth. Your challenge is figuring out how to transform a barren environment into a fertile one. Perhaps your goal is to get out of debt or attract a loving relationship. But this is where you’re getting stuck. You’re not sure HOW to do it. Although you can sense a lot of potential growth happening, you’re wondering why you feel stuck.

The 8 of Swords depicts a barbed wire fence. There’s a barrier that’s limiting your growth. There may be a few external limitations or lack of resources, but the real problem is internal. Emotionally, you may be restricted by fears of taking the first step or you’re not sure of what to expect. Self-doubt may be creeping in because you think your goals may be out of reach. You want to move forward but all you see is the Keep Out sign.

It’s time to manage your emotions. Get control of your fears, self-doubt, and self-defeating behaviors. Release your natural impulse to give up too easily or move on to the next thing.

In the 9 of Pentacles, a successful business woman stands confidently in her abundant fields. It’s time to embrace confidence and reclaim your power. Channel your restlessness into determination.  As a nine, this card represents attainment, so focus on the end result and what you’ll have achieved when the work is done. Congratulate and reward yourself for each small step. When you do, you’ll begin to see the fruits of your labor.

The Ellis Deck - Ellis - 2013 - www.ellistrations.net

The Ellis Deck – Ellis – 2013 – www.ellistrations.net

As the moon slips into Aquarius, you might start to feel the urge to jump into something new, untried and untested, determined to make your individual mark on something…or embark on a personal journey.  As good Cancerians, we’re never that keen to act on these unqualified, unproven and – heaven forbid – potentially risky thoughts or desires, but we need to look at what’s potentially holding us in check…is it a realistic sense of remaining grounded and focused on what needs our attention at the moment, or is it our over-developed sense of putting everyone else first…and ourselves last?  Sometimes our own needs should be prioritised, as we take the opportunity to work out what’s important to us – be applying as much a sense of that self-care to ourselves as we are wont to do to with others…allowing us to ensure that we’re keeping ourselves polished and primed, rather than relying on our connection to, and relations with, others to provide that sense of contentment and security for us.

Be prepared to take that leap of faith, especially if it means some introspection, some personal re-prioritisation or re-establishing that sense of self identity and purpose.  As much as you are a mountain of strength and emotional resources for others, now is the time to be all that for yourself – trust in yourself, recognise your own strength and apply it to your own endeavours – your shell is all the protection you need and more, so heed that call to take a (considered!) risk, and launch yourself into the unknown that’s calling you, confident that you’re more than capable of handling the challenges that may arise to pull you from your all-too-comfy comfort zone.

Aquarian Tarot - Paladini - 1970 - US Games

Aquarian Tarot – Paladini – 1970 – US Games

The Hanged One | Ace Rods

Givers get given to.
—Russell Simmons

Dear sweet Leos, you may have felt particularly fortunate last year, maybe for a long time. But it’s also true that at some point you noticed a yearning within you, and no matter the commitments you’ve kept, progress you’ve made, or people you’ve supported, it has grown hasn’t it? Some of you have named the thing or circumstance you desire, the person you want to become. Some have not, and yet you still feel the pull and seek to name this north star of personal expression.

In order to show up in the world, you have set this yearning aside and tended more immediate matters. Or maybe you hesitated to start-the-things that you know you needed to start. Maybe you had bouts of uncharacteristic uncertainty or self-doubt here and there. Maybe a little impatience.

The one thing all Leos have in common, regardless of your relationship with this yearning, is in the meantime, you all give. Regardless of resources, station in life, purposes or goals, you give what you have and what you don’t. Your time, your energy, your smile and kind words. You Shine. All the while wondering: when will I obtain the closure, recognize my purpose, implement my highest wish? When will I receive?

Beside the Hanged One, the Ace of Rods asks:
“In the meantime, what role might be exciting to play?
“What new self is waiting to be explored?

The reversed Hanged One above looks like an antenna, ready to receive abundant messages from above and move on from a challenging wait. This card recommends that you stay ready to receive, patient, and generous. Generosity aligns you with the abundance of the universe. Shine, dear Leo. And you may find an invitation or opportunity to try a new identity on this month. A new way to shine and give. Consider it. Your unique brand of generosity just might be the key to satisfying your longing and answering your unanswered questions.

Minoan Tarot - Ellen Lorenzi-Prince - http://www.darkgoddesstarot.com

Minoan Tarot – Ellen Lorenzi-Prince – http://www.darkgoddesstarot.com

This month you need to remember to stand out, Virgo. This is not a time to be a wallflower. If you want someone to know how you feel, you need to let them know in a big way. This is about displays of love and over-the-top gestures. Not Virgo’s norm, but definitely something to look at during this period. The Five of Sky is your call to action. Defend your turf and let your partner know that you are not going to go anywhere without them. The energy that will help you most during this “hey look at me” portion is that of the Sky Mistress. Her message to you is this. “Wake up and pay attention to the messages.” If you feel like you are seeing the same thing over and over and over again, please know there is a reason for that. She has information to give you but sends it in symbols and repetitive things—like that annoying co-worker who never has a new joke but loves to tell you the old one over and over. The one thing that can trip you up in all of this is letting others drive your life. You must be your own Charioteer, honey. Otherwise you are not going to know where you are going. And trust you me…if you think it’s a good thing to repeatedly ask “What is the handbasket and where are we going”, you are sadly mistaken. All in all, a good way of summing up this energy for you is “PAY ATTENTION”. That’s for you and those around you. They need to pay attention to you just as much as you need to watch where you are going. Time to get focused on what you truly want out of that relationship. Even single Virgos need to examine their relationship with themselves for this month to be utilized in the best of ways.

he Animal Wisdom Tarot – Brunke – CICO Books – 2013, Messages From Your Animal Spirit Guides – Farmer – Hay House – 2008

Hey there Libra!

Conflict, Transformation and Hope are your buzz words for this moon cycle Libs!

We’ve got Scorpion magic here with us to bring in some Five of Branches (wands) energy. There’s an inner conflict this moonth, but it’s only because you’re going through a huge transformation right now, and with transformation comes conflict – internal and external.

January is usually a gung-ho month full of cracking on with new year’s resolutions, joining the gym, starting projects, getting all fired up and ready for change, but this January is different, especially for you Libras. You might be getting fired up about the year ahead, but it’s really tricky to channel that fiery energy into the right directions just now.

You will get through it, you will transform and you will be able to come back out of your shell. But for now, your shell is actually protecting you and you need it! You’re not quite ready to totally shed the skin of who you were in 2015 and that’s totally OK. Just give it another week or so!

The Toad is all like – guys, don’t worry about how we’re feeling just now, there are so many awesome things coming this year! It doesn’t matter if you’re having a weird or a slow January, February is just around the corner and things will start moving again, but you gotta have hope! If you get in a funk and stay there, you’ll just hide under a rock scorpion style for like, the whole year.

Pueo, also known as the Hawaiian Owl is watching out for you just now. It’s a great time to call on your spirit guides and in particular your animal totems and guides! Do some meditations to work with your animal guides and draw on their strength just now to help you raise your vibe and stay high about what the future is going to bring!

Your present may be a little cloudy, but the future is bright, you just gotta turn on the light!

With love, light and animal power!

Aw nuts, Scorpio, I feel it too! Last month was a toughie and the month ahead will hold even more great big changes and answers being sought. Bundle up against the cold, and know that from here on, it can only get warmer! In fact, that’s why all this icky emotional stuff is happening: you’re clearing the way for your own vision of personal happiness, and you’re in the process of deciding who you’re bringing with you. And yet, relationships are less your focus than your return to your own personal notions of tradition, leading you to seek higher wisdom to answer your deep questions. How unusual for you! The truth is, the bricks feel like they’ve been piled darn wrong, and you can’t accept it any more. You just can’t! It’s time to embrace the dark search Within that needs to happen, so find your brightest torch and know that this journey will be anything but easy. Know also that the light at the end of the tunnel will be pure and total awesome, everything you’ve been working towards! The hard things you’re working through now are the Waves of Change, and you’re feeling every bit of it so you can release it and let it go for good! Instead of fearing the messages haunting your dreams, listen to them, and address them if you can – they won’t be tormenting you for much longer!

Scorpio is like a Fox this month: feeling extra-wild, needing to be cunning, and knowing when it’s time to fight and when it’s time to burrow into your foxhole to warm your heart (and hands! Brrr!!)!

The Enchanted Tarot - Created - Zerner & Farber - 1990 - Connections Book Publishing

The Enchanted Tarot – Zerner & Farber – 1990 – Connections Book Publishing

Sag, this month we will be surprised at how our path takes some exciting, unexpected new directions!

The big message here though is that we need to slow down. The Four of Swords reminds us that we need to be mindful with every step we take. When we attempt to rush, it may be because we feel everything won’t come together unless we push ahead and force it – but this isn’t true. Everything is unfolding perfectly! When we slow down, we create space for us to connect, to listen and to become more aware of the signs and guidance around us. Just pause for a moment – things are not as they seem. We are transforming and everything around us is changing in reflection of this. Utilising our call to slow down is a powerful tool for us right now.

The Prince of Hearts is our sign that sweeping changes are arriving and this is the pathway to our dreams! We should prepare for significant movement now! We must allow ourselves time to recalibrate and for our energy to refuel so when the time comes to act – we are ready! We must relax, keep our feet on the ground and get ready to follow those signs!

Our final card, the Five of Wands, is telling us not to entertain Ego during this time. Our hearts have got to lead the way. We need to gives ourselves space to gather our thoughts and let the mind chatter become still. If we give any time to old and damaging thought and behaviour patterns now, we will be making the choice to hold ourselves back from fully embracing all the wonder, magic, adventure and love that we are capable of creating right now. We need to consciously choose to rise above and beyond what we have previously known, in order to become what we need to be.

This time will be as crazy and stressful or effortless and smooth as we allow it to be. Everything is about to change – just remember all the power is in your hands!

Card of Capricorn : 2 of CUPS
Herbal Ally : UVA URSI
Ponder this …
• How can I give and receive Love more freely ?
• What relationships are cherished and worth diving into more deeply and intimately at this time ?
• How can I create the Lavishing Love Lounge ?

Lavish love on others receive it gratefully when it come to you. Cultivate friendship like a garden. It is the best love of all. ~ Helen Prejean

The Tarot’s amusement with us is ever present. As we enter the month of Love (February = Valentine’s Day), what does the Tarot offer for this month’s TarotScopes ? The 2 of Cups, the traditional card of love, connection, friendship, blossoming relationship with the promise of more to come.

Cultivate important relationships, particularly those that feed our soul, that align us with others regarding common hopes, dreams, wishes for who we’d like to be and become, what we’d like to experience, how we’d like to be nourished and refreshed … while, at the same time, allowing us the opportunity to offer those things to one or more others as well.

There is a sense of mutuality, reciprocity, and genuineness that we want to both explore and be sure is where we are operating from and what we are offering throughout the month. Be more loving, more gentle, more forgiving, more compassionate, more understanding, more open and expressive … and marvel at how those things return to us in wave after wave.

This is a great time to seek out the type of relationship or relationship partner that you want. This is a great time to focus on primary relationships, making time for one on one intimacy with a beloved or a cherished friend.

Lavish Love … all over ourselves and those close to us. When our hearts and souls are thirsty for love and connection, reach out. When we recognise that thirst in another, reach out … Lavish Love.

You are quite welcome, Kate. I’m glad you liked it. =D Though the Leo theme hinted at resolution and synchronicity, it also suggested limbo, not always the best feeling. May you have all that you need in the timing that most serves. <3
