The Wild Unknown – Krans – 2012 http://www.thewildunknown.com/collections/all

Whatever you’re processing, whatever you’re carrying, whatever you’re dealing with right now in the best way that you can, it feels like you’ve just been interrupted. Or rather, it feels as though you’ve been stopped in your tracks. What’s going on? Just when you were doing so well?

The Five of Cups is a card of slow but steady healing. It’s you, acknowledging that you have permission to be with the pain you feel, that it’s okay to take your time, to notice the ebb and flow of all that you’ve been through and how that changes as seasons change, as you change, as pain transforms into lessons and then into wisdom and liberation. This is very much your process right now, and you’ve owned it gently but proudly. There’s beauty here.

This is a slow process, and that’s part of it’s beauty. You can’t rush through healing and pop out the other side sorted, whole, unscarred. But right now, that slowness has become static. You’ve hit a wall and suddenly the slow movement forwards has come to a halt.

It’s new year. Winter time. A time to wrap yourself up and turn inwards. A time to ask yourself questions. Are you afraid of the next step? Are you so close to completing this journey that you’re afraid of what’s on the other side? Has someone interrupted your healing? Or are you just tired – tired of processing, tired of feeling all those feelings? The Hanged Man represents this limbo state and encourages you to allow yourself one last push. You’re almost there, Capricorn – the light is growing stronger and bigger. Don’t stop now.

Animism Tarot – Cheung – https://www.thegamecrafter.com/games/the-animism-tarot

Knight of Pentacles comes barreling in with the Sun and the Moon on either side. Oh Aquarius, what a turning of the Wheel you will have. For this Capricorn cycle, you can expect that money will be taking up a front row seat in your life. You are going to have to address your budget head on. Our rhinoceros Knight can be a bit of a stick-in-the-mud when it comes to things like paying bills before having fun. The good news is that the Sun is on the helping side so you may be able to get an assist from family. Also it looks like any money needed for health will be easier than you think. However, let’s heed that Moon on the hinder side, okay? This is your wake-up call to get real with your money self. Stop hiding from what your real worries are. If you are pissing money away, you are going to have to tighten up the purse strings on yourself. No more blaming your partner, your job, your cat, your neighbor, Trump or any other scapegoat you have handy. This is on you. Setting up realistic money goals will help. If you can’t do a $100 a month in savings, then do $10 or $5, but do something. Emotional spending seems to be a big suck-hole for your money as well. You might go on a declutter spree that involves selling off all those things you bought in 2015 but never used. The Knight of Pentacles with the Sun helper can really be a force for good in your world, Aquarians. Just remind yourself that new habits take time to really sink in. Don’t stop working on that budget. Make it a priority, please. And no, you can’t impulse buy. 😀 What were we just talking about?

Le Véritable Tarot de Marseille – Hadar – Éditions de Mortagne – 1995, Self-Care Cards – Richardson – Hay House – 2001

It’s a good thing the holidays aren’t over yet, Pisces, because you’re going to need all the R&R you can get! The Lover, paired with The Moon, signals that 2016 will be off to a hectic start.

We Pisceans are a moody bunch at the best of times. The dark days of winter, and hibernation-worthy temperatures, can send us spiralling into extended bouts of antisocial inertia. Then along comes Cupid – who thought it was a good idea to give this chubby toddler a bow and arrow to play with? You’d like to keep an eye on him but well-meaning relatives are busy giving you unwanted advice. Especially your mother. With all the confusion, how can you hear the voice of your intuition? Someone’s bound to get hurt.

You may think that the underwater crustacean clawing its way to the surface of its artificial pool is about to reveal its true motivations. But once it pokes its head above water, the voice of your subconscious mind is drowned out by the yapping of a pair of wild dogs who’ve taken it upon themselves to guard the estate. Those distant twin towers gleaming in the moonlight – golden, untouchable, the way things were once upon a time – are they just a mirage?

With this much going on in your inner and outer worlds, it’s easy to be overwhelmed. Just remember that every thought and image we encounter is a reflection of our own heart. When we embrace all aspects of our Self, we invite our warring personae to nurture each other, like a series of Russian dolls. This month, open your heart to crazy, fertile and creative Life Force, returning to Earth with the lengthening days. Cherish your divine inner child at play.

Relative Tarot – Paris – 2015 – carrieparis.com

 Dear Aries,

I thought you might be in need of a reboot, so I pulled out a Majors-and-Court-Cards-only tarot deck – Relative Tarot by Carrie Paris – to get you fired up in that good ol’ Aries way. These cards can be considered your ‘Wild Cards’ for the month ahead, and will awaken different qualities within, so that you can do what needs to be done and feel what is meant to be felt.

So let me introduce you to The Chariot, The High Priestess and The Fool, here to speak directly with you about how they will guide you during this month of Capricorn:

The Chariot: Sit only if you must, and if you must, sit with the intention of withdrawing from old habit patterns, and crank up your capacity to move forward in a way that defies limiting belief systems. I will help you make choices that sentiment has no part of – there is a new life to behold!

The High Priestess: Stay with me this month when you need to cool your head and feel more deeply once more. I can lead you towards pathways that illuminate and suggest important things, and I can encourage you with the mental stamina and patience required to make the changes that The Chariot spoke of. Let your intuition take primary residence in your heart, so that you can trust that you are making decisions that enlighten rather than mislead.

The Fool: Take only what you need, and leap forward. I will help you connect with yourself in a way that leaves you feeling bold, refreshed and alive. I don’t have the foresight of the High Priestess nor the balance of The Chariot, but I do have a marvelous fortitude for creating new pathways and dance moves that forces the Universe to respond. Go forth in Love dear Aries folk and make this month and year the best that you can!

7 Cups | 9 Wands

Advice: Crown Chakra
Action Plan: Key | Mountain | Mice | Coffin | Child
Shadow: Clouds

Well, Taurus, this go round looks like we will be making some serious choices as they relate to our emotional output and well-being.  The 7 of Cups is telling us that there are a lot of people, situations, circumstances that we want to be emotionally involved in, but we really don’t have THAT much energy to give and still be able to function normally and care for ourselves.  We like the thought of having options, but some times, we get greedy and end up finding ourselves intoxicated by all that is going on around us, that we are no longer paying attention to what is actually feeding our soul.  Indulgence is one of bittersweet pastimes, and sometimes it can lead us into a pasture that we are not fully prepared to roam.  The 9 of Wands is all about perseverance, but that is AFTER we decide what we are keeping emotionally.  It’s asking us to choose and then ride or die for what we commit to.  Expending energy haphazardly skews our focus and we end up charging in various directions with no real plan or aim.  Cutting out the illusion that “more is better” will allow us to hone in on what’s most important and see those things through to the very end.

The advice of the Crown Chakra is asking us to seek Divine Guidance in making our choices.  To truly tap into Source and come to a place of peace with what is needed in our lives at this point in time is of great importance.  We are embarking on a New Year and everything in 2015 can’t go with us.  Embracing the Universal Light and trusting it in ourselves will allow us to choose wisely and grow in alignment with our purpose.

To do this, we must first recognize that we do not know everything (I know that’s hard to do, lol), and that there is fear that needs to be released as it is keeping us blocked and involved in things that are no longer serving us.  Transitioning is difficult to us as we don’t do change well, but adopting new policies and procedures about the best way to tackle life at this very moment is key.

The Starchild Tarot – Noel – 2014 – www.starchildtarot.com, Angel Prayers Oracle Cards – Gray – Hay House – 2014

Hey fellow Gems,
In case you didn’t get the memo, we’re going through a huge transformation right now. I know right? Like you could’ve missed it!

We totally know some awesome things are heading our way… but we’re a bit bored of being stuck at the bus depot.

Seriously though, how long does the transformation bus take to get here?

You have two choices this month; 1. Keep moaning about how freaking long this is taking and stamp your foot at the universe in a hissy fit or 2. Trust it’s happening and do something to help it along!

Just because we’re not on the bus yet doesn’t mean we can’t be getting some snacks or entertaining ourselves somehow. Come on, we’re Geminis! If anyone can make this place of transition entertaining, it’s us!

The Page of Swords is a huge reminder for us that we are just starting to learn how to wield our own power. We can use our swords (AKA our smarts) to help us accelerate this process and transform and up-level even faster! Yay!

It’s time for some chopping. What’s not working in your life? What’s holding you back from getting on that bus?

A lot of us may be cutting ties with others this month. It’s really hard when friends, loved ones, even lovers are no longer an energetic match for us. But it’s harder to hang onto old stuff that weighs you down.

You don’t have to go all scissor happy and cut everyone out of your life, but it is time to really look at some energy leaks and let go of anyone or anything that constantly drains yours.

We’re only going to truly and totally transform when we grab that sword by the handle and make it happen.

With love, light and swishy sword play!

Cosmic Tarot deck – Lösche – U.S. Games Systems – 1986

What is the most beneficial theme for Cancers to adopt over Capricorn season?

Nine of Swords & Judgment rx

Self-flagellation examination. Cancers need to learn all is well, and access to this unwavering sense of peace comes through pain – the kind inflicted by Mind Anguish.

Nine of Swords is Mars in Gemini and Judgment is Pluto; this combo indicates intense analysis, delving into the recesses. The blades piercing the heart of the figure in Nine of Swords represents a criticism bombardment and Judgment reversed advises us not to get stuck in the mud, with the image literally stressing this point. We’re entering dense fog mental territory with little to no visibility; don’t try to figure out the source of thoughts, just experience them and acknowledge their existence. Ever try maneuvering in natural conditions like this? To avoid certain death it is necessary to allow the fog to pass – walking blind is dangerous, so stay still and suspend forward progress.

A lot will come up – the conversations used to halt advancement – the things said causing Waking Reality Nightmare: that distinct, seemingly interminable sense of dread.

In addition to Mercury scrambling the day-to-day when it goes retrograde from January 5-25, Pluto in Capricorn highlights false personas, spotlighting an obsessive desire to play a certain character in life at all times, even if this role no longer suits.

When Mercury goes retrograde on January 5 it also squares Mars, creating acute motivation to express a new mental identity. The Sun is conjunct Pluto too, bringing obsessive tendencies into the light of day.

The days ahead are dichotomous, it’s as if, while so much internal evolution is occurring, the world still struggles to catch up – or maybe the opposite, the world is miles ahead and Mind needs help grasping reality.

Good news is, Authentic Awesome Self is in plain view on 9 January, when Pluto and Mars form a quintile; this creates binocular vision on the radness inherent in the expression of true nature – it’s fun and giddy.

Chill out and drop old weight – apply this mantra to internal dialogue and interpersonal relationships.

The Lovers & 10 cups

“We are our choices.”
― Jean-Paul Sartre

Well somebody’s set to have a fabulous month… the kind of month that has far-reaching and lasting effects. The message for Leos this Capricorn season relates to attention, intention and synchronicity. We use our attention/intention and focus on the people we care about, the choices we make in life, our goals, our connection to higher power, and our perceptions of ourselves and others. All of reality is made this way, through our perceptions. And these perceptions depend on where we put our attention. Life is an ongoing, all-encompassing series of choices and they are usually made unconsciously. Because we sometimes shrink away from the power to create worlds with our gaze, our intent.

This power of intent is like that of higher beings. Like the angel that floats on the traditional Rider-Waite version of the Lovers, hovering at the center, in the same position as 10th cup in the Aquarian ten of cups above. These cards echo one another. The Lovers representing the macrocosm, where our attention has the power to create our life stories and a story for every situation or person, one encounter at a time. The ten of cups representing the microcosm where we wake each morning to gaze upon, drink in, and be nourished by the fruits of each intentional seed we have sown, each story we tell.

Nudged on by the ten of cups, the Lovers ask:
“How can you anchor your wildest dreams and intentions in your life and heart?”
“What choices will lead you home to yourself?”
“What goals do you dare not speak?”

The Lovers ask you to confess.  Just in time for the end of this year, what will you fix your gaze upon? What will you fall in love with? I challenge you to answer the call. Grab a pen, get a magical planner, draw a doodle. Ask yourself these questions. Your choices will make up the fabric of a very cozy month. Dare I say this coziness could extend to enfold a lifetime… and not just yours.

The Fountain Tarot – Gruhl, Saiz, Todaro – 2015 – http://www.fountaintarot.com/deck.html

This month is all about getting in touch with your inner child and your intuition.

Your tendency to operate from a place of logic and order sometimes creates an imbalance in the spheres of your emotions and your spirit. What’s practical and makes sense doesn’t always resonate with what feels good to you, and this is where The Fool, representing your inner child and The High Priestess, representing your intuition come in.

Think back to when you were a child, and how there were things that you found yourself doing in play just because they felt good and right to you.  You didn’t question those things.  You didn’t hold up a cost-benefit analysis sheet to your desire to play and have fun and make a judgement call that it was a waste of time because you weren’t good at it, or it wasn’t going to become your main source of income, etc. You just did things because they felt good to do.  You relied on your intuition to guide you to those things that felt good.

This is the spirit that you need to bring back into your life.  Logic and order have their place, but if it doesn’t feel good deep within yourself, it’s best to wait for the thing that comes along and feels good.

So much of our world works in duality, Libra, on the balance of scales, crossing and uncrossing, shadow and light- so must the ways in which we approach this cycle.

In this spirit, is our query based: Challenge & Opportunity. The trick of it is, challenge and opportunity often both reside in the same time and space. As such, an examination of challenge and opportunity isn’t so much about looking at different circumstances, but looking at different perspectives of the same circumstance.

  1. Where does challenge come from?
THE CHARIOT – In this position, this card asks: What are you doing your best to control, slow, or manage? What opportunities are passing by you as you hold on to the reins of control, keeping your hands full and your focus elsewhere. What is happening around and behind you- in this card literally on your back- while you dally and convince yourself that holding tightly and moving slowly will gain your victory?
  2. Where does opportunity come from?
KING OF PLUMES (Swords) – Instead of seeking control, seek clarity. You have the capacity to see through the muck and cut to the chase with precision. This master of Air understands flexibility that comes from  being able to observe a situation, see the whole picture, and adapt to fit. That’s where you’ll find your balance, and it is this that will empower you forward as you make the decision you may have been avoiding.
  3. How to manifest balance?
8 OF STONES (Wands) – Answering the question posed by The Chariot and confirmed by the King of Plumes, this card declares that it is time to make a move! Strike while the iron is hot, as they say. The King of Plumes came to reassure you that your instinct is on deck, dear Libra. You have been careful, strategic, and perhaps even over-planned (too contrary to your nature), and now the wait is over.

You’ve got this, so go for it already!

Feng Shui Tarot – Connolly & Connolly – U.S. Games – 2015

Shadow Card: King of Cups reversed
Card 1: The point of impact | King of Wands
Card 2: How to open yourself to the connection | II – The High Priestess
Card 3: The transformation | 10 of Swords
Card 4: How you’re holding yourself back | Knight of Cups
Card 5: The grounding point | Knight of Swords

Hoo boy, Scorpio! This is a month of big personalities! What our spread is telling us here is that truly, the personality that is changing now is yours! Your emotions and spirituality have been down in the dumps, but you’re getting back to self-care and remembering how to love. As a result, without a doubt, you have been inspired with your true passion! It will be a slow climb, so for now your best bet is settling in to the moment, and relying on your intuition whenever you feel it rising up – it’s there for a reason! Listen!

The point of transformation will be explained in metaphor. You’re taking a bath, and it’s nice, and warm, and deep! Mmm. As you soak, you slowly become aware that the water has gotten cold and clammy. You’re still all bath-lazy, so you don’t want to get out, but seriously. It’s only going to get colder, and staying where you are will probably just make you sick!! Part of the problem is you’re waiting for someone to bring you a towel. This is where we come to where you are holding yourself back in life: you’re waiting for a sign, or better yet, for your hero to ride in on a shining steed to deliver you from your problems! Well, no. What needs to happen, what will be the grounding point for your transformation, will be taking action on the ideas you’ve already come up with for what will make things better. This is a time for giving dangerous beasts their space, instead allowing yourself to be ruthless in getting what you want!

The Enchanted Tarot – Zerner & Farber – 1990 – Connections Book Publishing Limited

Well Sag, you’ll be bursting into 2016 with a bright, shining bang! As you learn more and more how good it feels to let your worries go, you are discovering that your dreams are not only within reach but that you’re making it happen bay-beh!

Your first card, the Ten of Pentacles, is telling you that this is your time to reap the rewards of all your hard work. You’ve put in so much time, energy and love to get where you are now and you deserve all the good things that are coming to you. Revel in it! You earned this!

Just don’t hold on to anything too tightly… Your second card, the Four of Hearts, is asking you to be open and flexible to how things play out now. You are absolutely going to be ‘living the dream’ but it’s worth standing quietly in your power for a moment so you can re-evaluate some stuff. You’ve changed so much and it’s only naturally that as you evolve, your dreams will be evolving too. Don’t be surprised if what you thought you wanted has changed. This isn’t a bad thing, it’s a glorious reflection of how much you’ve grown. As you expand further into a braver, freer, happier version of yourself, you may discover that there are new experiences you want and need to explore!

Here’s the thing to remember though – whatever you want, you’re going to have it. The vibration that’s around you is absolutely magical right now and it’s totally in your favour. You are literally the King or Queen of manifestation! You’re going to cruise effortlessly through this next phase of your life. Of course, there is still work to be done but it’s the kind of work you cannot wait to do! Woohoo!

Keep your mind, heart and soul open to the possibilities and be ready to explore something new whilst fully trusting in yourself and the Universe that you have got this. This is your time and nothing can stop you now!
