Nine of Pentacles + The Wheel of Fortune + Four of Wands
Aries + End Strife

And so the zodiac wheel turns again. Pisces gave well deserved time to sort out all your heavy emotions, to relax as needed, but now it’s time to regroup. Aries often feel the need to get up and do something, need to feel challenged and worthy. And this Aries season may feel a little strange at first.

The Nine of Pentacles immediately asks you to appreciate all that you have, all that we have done so far. (Yes, that includes the down time and emotional work.) And more than that, it asks you to enjoy it. Revel in it, bask in it; you don’t have to get up right now and press on. There will be time for that during your season, don’t you worry. But first, let yourself feel the joy and abundance that you have worked so hard for.

Then…then! You have The Wheel of Fortune to remind you that the work is never over. Take this newfound appreciation for your work and channel it where it is needed. Roll it out in your current project, pass it around to your friends and co-workers who need your driving energy.

Share the wealth and your renewed energy. Not everyone will be on the same page as you; some will struggle to see your enthusiasm, so meet them where they are in their cycle and assist. Don’t overwhelm!

I know this season is weird, it feels very collaborative, which might feel weird because Aries is more Lead than Collaborate. But the Four of Wands insists on it. Bringing your awesome Aries powers to others, watching with pride as you see your abilities work in tandem with others. It will be a cause for celebration.

And in the rather troublesome and constantly defeating energy that keeps getting through in our personal, political, and activist lives, Aries energy can uplift and take charge for the better. And when an Aries is in their Aries season, there is nothing you cannot do.

8 of WANDS (Cayenne)

« You must learn to love yourself before you can love others. We accept the love we think we deserve. » ~ Danielle, starsmoonandsun.com

Let us acknowledge and embrace the fleetingness of life and the impermanence of all things.

Remember, things are never static, never the same from one moment to the next, what they were, what they are, what they may become.

We may have a tendency to act far too impulsively, not taking the necessary time to evaluate and assess whether something is truly right for us, or even meant for us. There can be a tendency to grab and go rather than spending time with.

We can experience thrill, exhilaration, that rush of excitement … but there will also be the accompanying let down … or, perhaps more correctly, the coming back down to earth when we are faced with what really is rather than what we got so lightheaded and giddy about, throwing all caution to the wind.

This doesn’t mean don’t have any fun, or not to engage in exciting, impulsive adventures, during the month. Far from it. The exact opposite, actually.

Have a fling … do something spur of the moment … play, frolic … be adventurous … be present for momentary encounters …

But don’t read too much into anything. Enjoy it for the moment, and let it be that. Try to hold, grasp, cling to it, and you’re likely to get burned. Let the fire die down, and in a few weeks time, see if there are still any embers from which something might still be stoked and coaxed. If not, then enjoy the memory of that fleeting romance, that captured moment, that hot and heavy encounter that still leaves you breathless when you recall it.

It’s all about zooming forward. Now isn’t the time to go backward. If something from the past can now move into the future, it’s worth exploring. If it’s just about trying to recapture what used to be, with no sense of what it could become without just being a carbon copy of what was before, then it’s time to make our peace with it and move on.

Venus will begin its retrograde journey at 13° of Aries retrograding all the way back to 27° of Pisces, in an exact conjunction with Chiron, the wounded healer. This 6-week period brings an introspective turn of mind and heart. Venus rules beauty, art, social relationships, partnerships, romance, love, values, money, and financial security.

When Venus goes retrograde, it is not a favorable time for initiating activities in these areas of life, because our perception is off-kilter even as intuition and impulsiveness run strong. However, cautiousness and conscientiousness are called for.

We may impulsively over-value something, or convince ourselves it’s totally worth it, only to say to ourselves after we move out of the retrograde, « What was I thinking ? » and that maybe it wasn’t/isn’t really worth it or as valuable to us as we had justified ourselves into believing.

Retrogrades call us to the re-words – re-treat, re-assess, re-evaluate, re-visit, re-member, re-do, etc. In the case of Venus retrograde, we should slow down and reassess what—and who—you value. And with Venus being in Aries, we’re being asked to explore the ways in which we relate to ourselves, what compassionate love looks like, the importance of using our imagination when working on healing our core relationship wounds.

From a brief encounter with a charming stranger to a short-lived relationship that couldn’t overcome bad timing, we all have the one that got away. With the planet of passion moving backward through the cosmos, you have a second shot at love.

A sense of romantic nostalgia and longing seeps into your consciousness, bringing an old relationship back into your world. The purpose may be to reconnect you or to give a final opportunity to get over it. This may be someone whom you saw as your soul mate. This may be your chance to deal with any unfinished business in your old relationship.

This is a time to (re)evaluate a current relationship to get in touch with our feelings about a relationship and whether it really satisfies your needs. Relationships are often known to come to an end during a Venus retrograde because they challenge, issues and problems are just too great to overcome or move beyond at this point.

When Venus stops to turn back forward on 15 April, she will basically be locked into a square with Saturn for several weeks. April will likely not be a good month for relationships and finances. If things are going to get weird, it’s going to be then.

Likely issues are relationship troubles, break-ups, separations, or general unhappiness, especially during the 2nd and 3rd weeks of April due to the Full Moon and a Sun/Uranus Transit that are both happening. Both can bring up some difficulties that could set off the Venus/Saturn hardships. Plan ahead and avoid sudden reactions during this time.

Tarot of Trees – Dana Driscoll – 2008

Time to get to the nitty-gritty, Geminis. What can you make more authentic, more tangible, more real in your life in the next few weeks? You are THE MAGICIAN, and all is at your fingertips. Be discerning with what you send energy into, ensuring that you have taken steps to secure yourself and your resources and that you are building towards sustainability.

What pulls you down? SEVEN of CUPS, tempting with all its false choices. You won’t lack for options- whether in love, work, or any other pursuit. In fact, you’ll be inundated with them to the point of overwhelm. Your adaptability will only take you so far, and I urge you to lock down what is real first, what is presented to you authentically. It’s time to do the work of creating your own litmus test for this evaluation.

What holds you back? THE MOON, another card of illusion. In the moonlight, shapes are distorted, nightmares lurk in the shadows, and the little light that is left delights in tricking us. There is a message here to deeply check in with your intuition- there’s nothing wrong with backing up your intuition with a practical check. This isn’t a doubting of your intuition; think of it is a re-calibration of your inner compass to ensure it still points to True North.

What lifts you up? TWO of PENTACLES. Again, this message of practicality and authenticity grounds itself in this reading. It re-emphasizes the options that are open to you and encourages you to narrow it down, learn the power of priority. This is also the card of the juggler, so please remember, authentic doesn’t mean boring. In fact, what is authentic to you will spark the passion that keeps you focused.

What moves you forward? PAGE OF PENTACLES says, go for it! Once you’ve done the work- visioning, resource gathering, and down to details planning- you’re good to make your move. You will meet obstacles and supports in equal measure, but the authenticity you prioritize in your effort will direct you to what is meant for you. Take your time and make your mark carefully. I’m excited for what is waiting for you as you reach the portal into your next journey (and you should be too!).

The Nomad Tarot – Jennifer Dranttel – 2014

XVI The Tower :: Ten of Earth :: II The High Priestess

Wow, Cancer! Are you ready to light some fires? I hope so because Aries season is ready for you to burn it down! With The Tower in your corner, this is your moment to ask, “What do I want to change? What is keeping me small and stuck? Where in my life do I wish things were better than just fine?” This incendiary card forces us to come face to face with the fact that to grow and learn and expand, we need to push ourselves way out of our comfort zone.

The Ten of Earth says that sure, you could sit on your laurels. Things are going ok. You’ve crossed some stuff off your list. You’ve mastered that skill or hit that stride. You’re cruising. The big question is, Cancer, is cruising enough for you? Or do you hunger for something more? Your conscious mind might not be quite ready to grapple with this desire, but it looks like your inner High Priestess is giving you a quiet nudge in the direction of new experiences, new wisdom, and understanding!

Your intuition is guiding you towards a new direction, and that may mean you have to shake up the comfortable world you’ve built. Change is hard, and the rapid, fiery razing of The Tower is even harder, but this month, it’s time to ask yourself, wouldn’t it be harder to stay the same?

Listen to those murmurings. Trust your instincts. Let curiosity and courage be your companions. Be a little wild! Light a fire, let it burn, and see what guidance you can discern in the smoke. It may be tough for you, little crab, to come out of your shell, but in the month ahead venturing into the unknown will be so worthwhile!

What should Leo be most proud of entering Aries Season?
Page of Cups
How can Leo attract the most positive attention during this time?
King of Wands
How can Leo best make use of this fiery Aries energy?
7 of Pentacles

Leo! Can you feel Spring, well, springing?! Things are revving up for you, and the best part is, you can feel it. Something big has been underway for you for a while now, and you can rest assured that your perception of what’s going on is absolutely correct.

Whether it’s something you have to release to shine more brightly than ever, or something you’ve just started and have high, high hopes for – know that the way you’ve been thinking is on the right track. This is an idea to hold on to. Especially if you’ve been doubting seeing it through.

Now is a time to trust yourself and know that you’ve learned what you needed to master this new chapter, and if things have felt like they’ve screeching to a halt, that’s the Universe staring you right in the face, so you’ll notice how wonderfully everything is unfolding for you!

Yes, this is a fertile time for you. You’ve been putting yourself in emotional situations because you know they’ll lead to personal growth – your personal relationships have been very much on your mind, especially regarding balancing masculine and feminine energies.

There is a loud message here to STOP comparing yourself and your experience to others’ – that won’t get you anywhere because you are a unique entity, on your own bright and courageous path!

Remember just how very much you’re in control. You know that because this is a system of your design! To direct your focus, concentrate on tying up the loose ends that wake your racing mind at sunrise – you know what’s been holding you back from fully launching, and sorting these things out will free you up for the incredible things you’ve been preparing for so long.

If it’s felt like you’ve literally been fighting to maintain your passion, it’s because you have been, and you’re winning the fight! Indeed, balance is to be found, and it will come through stopping to examine where your expectations of yourself have shifted onto other people, and where acting out their stories instead of your own has altered the course of your trajectory.

Leave them out of it and listen for the song that plays in your heart alone: this tale is not even close to being over, and a really good part is on the horizon!

The Vision Quest Tarot – AGM-Urania – 1998

Witty, Focused Virgo,

Your foundations are strengthening, and the energies you choose to work within the coming weeks will influence whether or not you rise to a level of completion. You’ve been focused and diligent this past season, laying each brick with intention and care.

But as the realization of your efforts looms imminent, your shadow creeps in and pushes you towards a psycho-spiritual critical point—will you fight, or will you flee? That decision, as always, lies in your capable hands, and your conscious awareness of it will make all the difference.

On the one hand, you have the choice to lean into the fears and doubts rising within you now. You can turn your focus to thoughts of gratitude and abundance and honestly internalize the often elusive knowledge that as long as you’re able and willing, you can manifest what you need to feel safe and secure.

The risk this shift entails, then, can be framed as an opportunity for growth and success. Likewise, no matter the outcome, you’ll understand that through taking a chance and making the effort, you will level-up anyway. This is magick. This is wisdom. And the reason it sounds crazy or laughable is that it’s a really hard place to get to.

On the other hand, you can allow the negative feedback loops that change triggers to infest your consciousness and set up shop there. You can decide not to resist your inner critic as they tell you what you’re trying won’t work, that you don’t deserve to have what you’ve worked so hard to achieve and that you’re an imposter who’s way out of your league. You can hang your head and quit just as your fruit ripens. Or…

You can refuse to let your mind treat you that way. You can stand up for yourself as you would a dear friend and say, “don’t you ever talk to my favorite person that way again.” You can beat back the fears and doubts that continually keep you from achieving your goals. You can rage, rage against the dying of the light and grasp your fruit before it tumbles to the ground and rolls into the hands of someone who’s ready for it. You can summon the courage to claim what’s yours. And you can rightfully claim what you’ve worked so hard for. Will you?

Rider Waite first published 1911

There is a balance of polarities in this spread, some are obvious, some are inferred. Does this speak to you, Libra? Your sign understands the balance of things.

Earth and Water are referenced visually in the card images, and do you see the rectangular shadow of the iPhone that took the picture? Technology derives from Air. Where is Fire?

Look at it this way: we’re at the Equinox. Spring in the northern hemisphere, Autumn in the southern. Fire waxing, fire waning as the Earth and the Sun dance in their orbits.

Before we go any further if you can spare a moment maybe take a look at two Shakespearean sonnets; 44 and 45. These 14 line poems are masterpieces of philosophical, alchemical, allegorical, literal, and symbolic… concision.

The Knight of Earth prepares for his quest, the Page of Water knows a lot about seeking.

Have you formulated your quest at this year’s time of new growth?

Earth is about manifestation, and Earth themes are (to name only three): health, wealth, and hearth.

Water carries feeling. Shakespeare again: “Love’s feeling is more soft and sensible than are the tender horns of cockled snails…”

So if you have a quest of some kind, call upon the elemental powers. Air to think it through, but not over-think it. Earth will give you stability. Water is your fuel expressed appropriately, at times in gentle misty empathy, and when needed in directed torrential passion and strong commitment. For fire, take in some sunlight. Not only for the vitamin D but because a single spark of divine fire at the Equinox can inspire your whole day, your whole year!

Remember The Empress, see her Venus symbol? Physical Venus spins the other way. If we lived on Venus, we could find sunsets in the East. Astrological Venus, planet of harmony, of art, and of pleasure, rules Libra. Above it all, The Empress in her abundance of love is always there.

Tarot del Fuego, Fournier, 2014

Feeling a bit sneaky these days, dear Scorpio? This Aries season has you itching for something new, and your restless spirit could lead you to some interesting places. You may be tempted to hide from these feelings. After all, change can be frightening, especially when it’s moving in a new and unknown direction.

Now is a time to examine your fears and make peace with them. Heading off into uncharted waters? It would be foolish to charge ahead without considering the dangers. In many cases, our fear is trying to tell us something important. Listen up and hear what it has to say. Get to know yourself in all your squiggly, strange, and glorious humanity.

There’s a fine line between caution and inaction, however. In the days to come, you might find yourself at an impasse, relying on oversimplified thinking that gives you only two options: fight or flight. Are you tempted to sneak away from the fray like the Seven of Swords? Or are you feeling obstinate and combative like the Seven of Wands? What you gravitate towards will tell you a lot about yourself, but there are many other ways you can move towards your fear bravely and constructively.

This is a time, dear Scorpio when those nervous butterflies are a sign you’re moving in the right direction. Embrace the shakes and shivers as proof that you’re trying something new and charting new territory. Like the Page of Wands, you’re raising your torch and exploring new realms. You don’t have to run and hide or distract yourself with conflict. You’re more than ready to create the change that’s right for you.  All you need is your pluck and intuition to guide you. And your fears can come, too. There’s room for it all and more this season. Who knows what you’ll discover next?

Golden Thread Tarot – Gong – 2017 | Sacred Journey Oracle – Ayala – My Sacred Brand – 2016

Sagittarius in the Aries, fire in fire, however, will you contain yourself?!?  Just like the month of March, coming in like a lion, you start this season fully loaded and ready to go!  You have goals in mind, and they are all about your wealth, health, and family and how you want to reach/continue success in each arena.  With the Knight of Swords, you are all about movement and quick action.

Decision making is at an all-time high, and you are dotting “I”s and crossing “T”s left and right, just trying to make headway and get sh!t done!  All of your plans aren’t fully formed or thought out, but that doesn’t halt your progress in moving forward to check off boxes on your list.  While you are passionate and excited about taking life into your hands and calling the shots, you must recognize that to move forward; you have to go backward.

Looking at the 10 of Pentacles, there are elements of your wealth, health, and family that have hit a pinnacle. Instead of continuing to drive forward on things that have already been well established, it may be time to go back to the drawing board to draft NEW goals that are more in line with where you are now in life.

The “American Dream” looks different for everybody, and if you are working with an outdated model based on who you were five years or even five months ago, you may be riding hard for the wrong things.

The Page of Swords is asking you to keep your enthusiasm for greatness, but slow down and seek your personal truths by asking yourself the important questions of “Who am I?” and “What do I want in this space of life?”

The advice card, Juxtapose, tells us that what you may have THOUGHT you wanted, may not hold true at this time, and as much as we want things to be orderly and tidy, it’s often in the mess that we find the message…

The Wild Unknown Tarot by Kim Krans

3 of Swords | 2 of Pentacles | 3 of Wands

You have a decision to make this Aries season my practical and hardworking Capricorn!

Do you choose to continue to juggle (which you don’t feel you’re doing the best at these days) or do you make a choice? Which wolf do you feed? The naysayer? The self-doubt, the mental conflict, and the anguish? Sharp claws ready, teeth bared, and waiting for you to slip and fall so they can sink their sharp falsehoods into you. Or do you choose to feed the wolf of inspired action, positive outlooks, loving words, and wise intuition? To transform, to grow, to transition and expand to the full breadth of your life and the pure essence of self?

Cut the energetic cords to negative thinking or lack mentality. The thoughts that creep in at night saying that you will never reach the top, that it is unattainable, or not meant for you. Let go of the thoughts of envy, heartache, loss, or sabotage.

Sometimes you need to look up from your work to see where you are going. Lift your head dear Capricorn and do what you do best – climb that ladder! Reach the pinnacle of success you know you’re capable of. Pull back the blinds and let the light shine into your soul. Expand your view to more awe-inspiringly colorful horizons!

Don’t allow insecurity about making a decision to strip you away from the security that you’re so well known for and cherish. Transition the way you’re thinking about your current situation. Create more balance in the juggling you’ve been doing lately, for heavy wings wet with tears cannot fly. Keep your eyes on the prize this Aries season my dear Capricorn.

Remember – the wolf you feed can either kill you or save your life.

From my soul to yours,
xo Ariel

The CBD Tarot de Marseille 2010

“Every great work of art has two faces, one toward its own time and one toward the future, toward eternity.”

―Lester Bangs

There are eight faces in this spread. Three of them point toward the past, the root of your energy, the genesis of a great idea, and five toward the future, the Sun, your guiding light, representing all that you are. Just the way we Aquarians like it. Five steps ahead of the rest and always seeming to say, ‘catch me if you can.’ Thing about that, rockstars:

Can you keep up with yourself?

Can you keep up with all eight faces? Can you keep up with the shiny idea – the one that charms you like so many snakes –  AND the race toward your core identity? Do you know, and are you aligning with, who you are?

Now is not the time to tinker with the new thing. I know you want to. It’s where your heart is. At the exclusion of all else. Lovers. Friends. Sleep. You’d rather scrap it all and get to work building. Assemble the team. Salvage parts. Draft the new plan. It fuels you. The light in your eyes is about to detonate. Everything else, be damned.

Prepare to set this month ablaze. Careful, though…

Aries’ flame will seek to consume, and you will want to let it. Do not let your powerful mind distract you from who you are, what you’re meant to do, from the connections made, from the future that you were born for.

Now is an excellent time to reexamine what pulls the heartstrings – the work you do and how you do it, the communities you are a part of, or that you created, all that you value. Do not lose touch with desire and tenderness, the things you might usually think of distractions. Be anchored by your wild and warm core.

Hey there Pisces,

This is a super exciting time for you!

You might have felt something bubbling up within you lately, and the good news is, you’re not imagining it.

Things are bubbling up, and it’s not in that “this is coming to the surface so you can work through it” way like it usually does.

This bubbling is your inner fire waking up, heating up your water energy, and it’s going to help to propel you forward.

This moonth you are being handed the magic wand that can help you start to really move forward on some of those dormant dreams.

You’re being handed a penny to throw into the wishing well.

While the universe is happily gifting you with these magical tools, it’s up to you to decide what to ask for, where to direct your magic and ultimately, become the person you are becoming.

If this kind of freaks you out, maybe you could start with “who do you want to be this month?” or even, “who do you want to be today?”

Manifesting and making magic can be kind of overwhelming at times, but whatever you do, don’t let that stop you from putting what you want out there.

An artist doesn’t sit around not painting in case she/he paints the wrong thing, she/he just picks up a paintbrush and paints something.

Don’t be afraid to ask for the wrong thing, or to direct your magic to the wrong place. If you screw up, it’s OK, we all screw-up, screwing up is part of the journey. The universe is full of wishing pennies and the earth has plenty of twigs that make perfectly good wands to spare.

So, what are you waiting for? Go make some magic.

With so much love, light and magic wishes,

  1. Stephanie says:

Whew! That Pisces tarotscope kind of shook me to my core. It is dead on with what I’m going through: coming to terms with the reality that pursuing a career as a journalist is not what I want and that I convinced myself it was, because my parents don’t approve of me being a screenwriter, or filmmaker and after a long time of heightened depression and anxiety I am, as of today (even before reading this) letting go of journalism to follow my lifelong dream of being a filmmaker. This has just been everything to me. Thank you so much! I stumbled across this and I couldn’t be happier to have done so. I think the universe really wanted me to know I’m finally on the right path.
