The Slow Holler Tarot Deck by the Slow Holler Collective
The Brown Magick Oracle Cards by Richie Brown

Dear Aries, this month you have a mission: to move from the Architect of Stones to the Visionary of Stones, with the Life-raft as your means of getting there. So, what does this involve? First, you must recognise and grab at your most abundantly creative ideas, pass through some murky waters, risk exposing your limbs to some pesky creatures, and finally integrate everything you have learned along the way. Will you, at last, wear the fabulous stone-encrusted platform shoes that the Visionary wears? Let us see what the cards have to say about this!

Architect of Stones: Grab at an idea – any idea – doesn’t matter what – as long as your heart leaps at least a little when you think about it. Then ponder it for a couple of days while protecting it from doubt, apathy, and fear. Now you are ready to send your idea across the waters to meet with the Visionary of Stones where it can come into being!

Life-raft: And I will get you there! Though I’m not sure how. My brain is exposed, and I have no eyes. Oh, Aries! What will become of your idea? Hmm. Well, I suppose it’s my job to answer that. Here’s what we are going to do. You are going to quietly move past any snarky negative types (we don’t need eyes to feel those vibes). You are going to resist answering back to splutters of sheer poppycock. Let the wild words roll while you cruise on past. I will help you be safe even when you are exposing your delicate parts to problematic people.

Visionary of Stones: My dear Aries, are you ready to enjoy the fruits of your labour? Remember that true success isn’t how much money you make or how many people know your name, but your capacity to remain poised, embodying your truly marvellous self in the most pleasing way you can muster! I hope you know that your presence alone makes things worthwhile for many. I don’t need you to put on a spectacular soiree Aries; I just want you to be real.

TAURUS
– Gina –

This Leo season is shaping up to be a formative time for you, dear Taurus. Things are starting off with a jolt – the unmistakable Tower is arriving to strike down any structures that are no longer serving you.

Like a bolt of lightening that starts off a forest fire, this moment will be drastic but ultimately beneficial. You have a lot of old growth that needs to be cleared away so that new, green shoots can grow. So take a deep breath, do your best to stay in the moment, and ride out whatever The Tower has in store for you.

In fact, this change is so necessary that the initial shock will be short lived. You’re being propelled into the free-flowing bounty of the ten of cups, showing us that you needed a shakeup to take you to the final level. It can be tempting to look to the past for clues, parsing through all the details to find some elusive answers. And this is especially the case when things go from tumultuous to joyful and easy. Do your best to resist the temptation, dear Taurus. Otherwise, you might miss out on all the beauty the world is giving you right now.

Confronting your fears is leading to an increase in both awareness and connections. Show your appreciation to those you care for and share your time, wealth, and support. It’s all going to be delivered back to you tenfold in the weeks to come. Now is an excellent time to build relationships and lay the groundwork for the next big project you’d like to undertake.

But there’s also something deeper going on here. You’re about to discover an increased connection to the spiritual world, however you choose to define it. In addition to bringing you closer to others, the drama of The Tower will awaken deep insights and a renewed curiosity about the unknown. Whether you find yourself deepening an existing practice or embarking down a new path, you’re bringing a bright enthusiasm and desire for something profound and lasting that will take you to the next level.

GEMINI
– Arwen –

Hello, Twins. I hope all is well in your world. For you, I asked What three things do Geminis need to be aware of for this Tarotscopes cycle? I’m using the Little Monster Tarot (self-published) by Joanna Nelson to delve into the challenges and rewards ahead.

“Fasten your seatbelts; it’s going to be a bumpy night.” The Chariot is card one. While this is a card of mastery and direction, the sense I get is one of a wild ride where no one really looks to see where they are heading. It would be best if you put your feet down a la The Flinstones braking system to slow your roll. There may be backseat drivers aplenty who think they know how to live your life. Your job, if you want to gain some much-needed control, will be snatching the reins up, so you are in charge of where you are going. Just not a good time to put your fate into someone else’s hands.

Next is The Wheel of Fortune which emphasizes changing fortunes. While the monster on top looks smug, the one on the bottom may be looking for the rug to yank out. Be aware that any “too good to be true” opportunities likely are. Don’t get hoodwinked by a fast-talking opportunist in any area of your life. And pay attention at work. Little opportunities could be much more beneficial than you think. Just make sure you trust the person offering. That’s your biggest worry with this card.

Our final card is The Fool. Well, Gemini, what can I say? Out-of-control Chariot, a Wheel you may not be able to trust and now the Fool? Don’t worry. This isn’t “the stars are against you. Get back in bed.” Sort of thing. Instead, the Fool is your own personal optimism coach telling you to trust your gut. The decisions that will need to be made will require a healthy dash of belief. Risks are okay as long as you are driving the chariot and eyeing those that turn the wheel with a strong dose of suspicion.

CANCER
– Vickie –

Most of us do not appreciate conflict, especially when it stirs up hard feelings and animosity. The FIVE OF WANDS shows five men gearing up for a fight. Rather than work as a team, they would rather duke it out in the name of protecting their individual interests. These next four weeks see you butting heads with others. And the longer you stick around, the more the conflict escalates.

Take a moment to ask yourself, “Is it really worth my time dealing with these self-centered jabroneys who have zero concern for my well-being?” If you can’t see eye-to-eye with the foolios to the left and the foolios to the right, maybe you’re better off moving to a new place.

THE FOOL takes a leap into the great unknown. Rather than stick around to watch this heated mess unfold, he’s going his own way. What you are willing to sacrifice to remain within the folds of the group, and is this sacrifice worth what you gain? If the answer is “no,” then the time is right to make a fresh start. What would you do differently if you did?

In JUDGMENT a group of veiled figures emerges from the depths of the vortex as if they are reborn into a new world. For you, dear Cancer, Leo season offers an opportunity to break apart from people who are causing conflict for the purposes of discovering another you. Use your Cancerian Cardinal energy to forge new ground in uncharted waters. It’s time to unleash the real you within.

LEO

Rachel Pollack’s (she’s a Leo!) Shining Tribe Tarot, Llewellyn 2001.

The summer sun is your sign, Leo, calling you to shine your fierce wild self forth. Strength and The Sun are the birthday cards sent to you by the stars.

How to answer this birthday-time call? The Tarot advises:

PATH (drawn from Majors and Aces): What path of wild joy is possible for you? JUSTICE -You are the Shadow Figure of Justice sitting at the cave’s edge, completing a time of retreat spent in darkness. The dark as Teacher showed you the wild parts of yourself that you might have denied in the light before, but now know you must integrate and learn to express. When you are ready to emerge, the snake-like path will lead you out of the cave. You’ll shed the outer layer of the old, then step into the waters (the 2 of Rivers’ Love) for a full re-balancing.

PRACTICE (drawn from Minors): What action(s)/way(s) of being can attune you to the path? TWO OF RIVERS – The light fish, has a dark eye, the dark fish has a light eye. Be filled with, and take action for, Love in situations that are both delightful (the light fish of taking summer picnics and outings the ocean) and those that challenge (the dark fish of listening to the friend in pain, advocating for the immigrant detained). You have more than one action. You must have summer fun and serve Justice, too. This is living the Love that grows from seeing we are all connected, move in the same waters, exist under the same sun, share one beautiful planet.

PERSPECTIVE (drawn from Vision Cards): What is most important to pay attention to keep on the path? PLACE OF TREES – Pay attention to the people, and spend time in the spaces, that connects you to the sacred that surrounds us just as the trees do. The “weapon” (the image’s Labrys) that you need to cut through obstacles isn’t a weapon at all, but an instrument used not for battle but sacred ceremony. See each moment as having a sacred dimension and, truly, wild joy will be yours.

Linestrider Tarot Llewellyn, 2016

Practical, Meticulous, & Detail-Oriented Virgo,

You are so beyond ready for things to pick up the pace! You may have been feeling like you’re trudging through the mud as of late, however, the energy is ready to get moving again – are you? Have agility and flexibility at this time. Be quick on your feet and in your thinking. Look for opportunities on where and how best to take the action you seek. Keep your eyes and ears alert to what is going on around you and make adjustments accordingly. Becoming distracted may cause you more harm than good at this time.

A single step. Short, sweet, and simple. That is all you need. Make the decision to head in a new direction. Do you have faith that what you want, wants you too? Are you moving toward it or away from it? Take pride in your journey and from where you have come. Pat yourself on the back once in awhile. How can you express yourself and your motivations quickly, accurately, and concisely? Are you expressing yourself and your desires fully by following this path or are you reverting to more comfortable coping mechanisms?

Yes, it can be scary to go off into the unknown, to make waves in uncharted waters, and to explore new territory – however, how much are you missing by staying in place? How much are you missing by going back to the old? Did you forget something back there or are you just reverting to your comfort zone? What do you choose? You may have to make a decision quickly. Face your fears and take the initiative and yet, be gentle with yourself in doing so. The world can be yours if you’re up to exploring it.

From my soul to yours,

xo Ariel

LIBRA
– Siobhan –

The CBD Tarot de Marseille 2010

“Follow your inner moonlight; don’t hide the madness.”
― Allen Ginsberg

Dominion is art and beauty.

Always for you and especially this month Libra. You like to project effortless balance. You seek to embody masterful decisiveness and power. You want to be seen as effortlessly driven and wistfully beheld. Even when the confidence and drive that match this self-perception is missing, you still cling to this projection. Even to your detriment.

You’ve always been good at this. Looking put together no matter what. And maybe it’s genuine. Even if so, this month flings you into emotions far far away from art and beauty. And the fall is not graceful. It’s all that you’d expect from an eclipse season – the eradication of everything you thought you knew and the accompanying grief.

Nothing about this is straightforward. These cards suggest wrestling with trauma and helplessness. Something that has been plaguing you for a long time, perhaps your entire life, has an opportunity to come to a head. You will have no choice but to choose.

Choosing can be deceptively simple.

It’s easiest to decide when we think of things as either or, one thing or another. It’s neatest that way, most harmonious.  Look at the fourth card from the right, the Lovers. At first glance, one central figure is flanked by two. At second glance we acknowledge the drama between these three.

It isn’t until the third or fourth glance that we perceive the fourth figure. With this card, there is a tendency to associate with the central character and see a choice between two options. We often forget the higher self, floating above. The witness and our connection to transpersonal wisdom.

What if you were to consider this card as if you were all four figures?

Real art is chaos and contradiction. Sometimes, dear Libra, art is quite ugly. Much like reality. Yes, you are the darling favorite chosen, effortlessly capturing the gaze of all who matter. But you are also the neglected insecure one, feeling alone and abandoned again. As well as the entitled one who chooses, taking for granted all that is available. And finally, you are divine wisdom, imbued with the power of focusing attention and creating the masterpiece.

You are the canvas containing these seemingly irreconcilable opposites. This messiness may feel impossible to bear, but this is how real art begins.  With the artist’s realization of just how limited their skill and just how much farther they must go before they can create what they want.

Get back to the drawing board.

The tools left over from your past, your beliefs, your sense of self and criteria for judging worthiness, some of these things aren’t serving you long term, and they’ll need to be acknowledged, evolved, or even set aside.

Forgive yourself the need for this work.
Forgive yourself the craving for perfection.
Acknowledge it and adapt.

The victim.
The chosen.
The chooser.
The divine witness.

It’s up to you which of these roles you’ll play or to recognize when you play them in turns. Whatever you decide, do not deny that it’s time to make a decision. It is. If you need it, do not hesitate to find extra support this month.

There are two sides to you, Scorpio. The person you are, and the person you appear to be. At least, that’s how it feels this month. But before you attribute your feelings of fragmentation or disconnect to Society, Other People, or even Family, let’s take a closer look at these polarised personae.

The part of you that longs for spiritual knowledge and authenticity is definitely on a quest. You’re feeling the stirrings of an untapped, inner power that’s going to have you busting through outdated beliefs about what you can or can’t achieve. You’re dreaming big and reaching for success on your terms. Right now, risk-taking has especial appeal – it’s a chance to flex your spiritual muscle and prove to yourself and the universe that you can manifest whatever you want. This would be the energy associated with The Magician.

On the other hand, in your work or family life, things are looking good. There’s a sense of stability and abundance that feels hard-earned. You may have recently reached a career goal or arrived at retirement. Financially, you’re very much aware of how you got to where you are now, and you’re not about to jeopardize it. You’re ready for the next big thing, but there’s no rush to figure out what that thing might be. That’s the vibe of the King of Coins.

These two energies may appear contradictory. But the way I read the elements, Coins represent Fire – that which brings life and joy. Time to celebrate abundance and all the good that money can do. Yes, you can be deeply spiritual and financially successful. Ready to embark on a new cycle of personal growth? You have the opportunity to make tangible, practical changes that will positively impact your life, and the lives of those in your sphere.

Nature Spirit Tarot Jean Marie Herzel 2014

My dear Sag, it’s time to make those lemons into lemonade. The cards for this month show the choices we have in life between struggling and initiating. This duality is nothing less than the challenge we face every day. Will life get us down today? Or might the universe lift us up? Which will it be?

The presence of two cards from the Minor Arcana tell us that we have the ability to control this response. No big cosmic forces or life lessons are on hand to manipulate our lives. There is only us this month, making the best of every moment…at least, that’s the goal.

On a more basic level, we see from the Page of Pentacles that new projects will beckon. These initiatives will be enticing and have loads of potential, but there is also a warning here. To really reap the benefits of this new effort, you’ll need to stick with it for awhile. Be mindful of any tendency for your attention to wander, your enthusiasm to wane. Perseverance is key. In time, you will see this effort evolve, grow more even more enjoyable, more lovely. It’s like a garden consistently tended to – in time, these blooms will blossom, and all of your hard work will have paid off. But you’ll need to put in the time, so plan the way ahead accordingly.

The reversed 5 of Pentacles suggests that any physical or financial pain that you endure this month will be short-lived. Here, we will have a bit of divine intervention in that there will be a solution at hand if you only stop and look for it. Recognize the heavenly help that is at your side, and things will unfurl smoothly, whereas if you feel yourself fall into worry or sadness, you’re missing the signs.

Overall, it’s a fine month for Sagittarians as long as you keep your head up, eyes open, and determination set. Best of luck with your projects!

The Lovers | The Hanged Man | Orca

Hardworking & Determined Capricorn,

This Leo Season, there will be a focus for you in how you are communicating in your love and relationships. It feels like there will also be great emphasis on how you commune with others. Are you speaking more than you are listening? The Lovers encourages you to bring an air of unity to your awareness.

You can’t always do it alone, even as determined as you are lovely Capricorn. Sometimes teamwork makes the dream work – seriously. Your message is stronger when it comes from a place of love rather than a place of ego or self-benefit. How can your efforts mutually benefit not only yourself but others as well? It also feels like this Leo Season, you will be called to balance the Divine Feminine and the Divine Masculine within yourself. How do they commune with each other? Is it a harmonious relationship or one of discord?

Be patient with yourself and your efforts this month. If you’re looking for love, The Hanged Man asks for your patience as well as your surrender. Capricorn you are a natural doer, go-getter, and all around ladder climber. You strive for success all days in all ways, however, sometimes those moments of pause in-between the triumphs can be the most powerful for integration and clarity on where you are going and what you need to get there. Is what you’re striving for really what your heart wants?

How are you expressing yourself, your feelings, and your love this season Capricorn? Have you been having trouble or reservations in saying how you feel to someone special in your life? Perhaps a stressful situation that you feel needs reckoning? Again, be patient. Ask for the spirit of Orca to help you with this as well as how to be more loving and supportive of others. Feel the small vibrations emanating from the other party or situation to know when the right time to share your love and wisdom is nigh.

From my soul to yours,

xo Ariel

The Swiss Deck – U.S. Games – 1972

Two cards in the suit of swords, air, and one in cups, water. Whenever I see a combination of air and water in a spread, I think of Champagne. As the Romantic Poet, John Keats put it: “A cup of the blushful… with beaded bubbles winking at the brim”.

Where is your champagne this month?

The 3 of swords is Saturn in Libra, and the 8, Jupiter in Gemini. Notice an air sign missing? Oh, yeah, Aquarius.

When Saturn and Jupiter aspect each other favorably, princes become kings. But here we have a page, not a prince/ss, and one air sign is missing, and it’s yours. My question to you is: is there a place in your life where you are not showing up?

Libra is the civilizer of the zodiac, a social idealist, one who goes to diplomacy before going to arms. And Saturn? All about technique. Polite mediation, a little skillful negotiation.

Jupiter in Gemini, an expansion of diverse interests, a favorite book re-read a second or third time, a new hobby, learn a language, make an ice-sculpture, take a sauna, oh look, that’s shiny! Get out there and do something.

The Page of Cups speaks of the entire element of water. They are all about emotion.

Aquarius brings progress through the unexpected.

Your sign’s co-rulers are Saturn, king of form, and Uranus, the Maverick. There are a million ways you might combine these energies. Here are three of them

Spice up your down time. Passionately.

Make a decision after thorough research. Be happy.

Head off conflict with distraction techniques. But, however you do whatever you do, hold love in your heart.

This Leo season is a month to show up, be visible, be noticed in your own life. That might get a glass, or two, of something fizzy.

Please drink responsibly.

 PISCES
– HiC –

Journey Into Egypt Tarot. by Julie Cuccia-Watts.

CARD FOR PISCES • KING OF CUPS
HERBAL ALLY • SAW PALMETTO

« Don’t limit yourself to being a mere fountain when you contain an ocean. Dare to breach the surface and sink. » ~ Vera Nazarian

Oh, my dear Pisces … you are going to love this month because it is going to be everything you are about.

The King of Cups is the card of Pisces (along with the Queen), so everything about this month seems to be all about swimming in the ocean of connection, discovery, spirituality, magic, and mystery that feeds, refreshes and ebbs and flows from the very depth of your soul.

Go deeper … open your heart, your soul … engage in relationships with others, be they people, places, creative activities, rituals, beings and spirits in the ethereal and celestial realms. And don’t just say hello … close your eyes and breathe into each other, discover what lies deep beneath the surface at the very soul of each of you, connecting you in ways that are indescribable yet ecstatic and never forgotten.

Communal hot tubbing … elixirs and essential oils … ritual baths … being naked in the ocean or river or swimming pool at night under a sky of stars and a universe that you feel more a part of than this earthly, human, material form … trance work … rituals that last and linger and may go all night, and may be enhanced by things like mugwort, saw palmetto or ayahuasca tea … standing beneath a waterfall saying, « Thank you » 10 000 times …

Intimacy is on the agenda for this month. Be willing to open yourself and offer, share, explore … create a loving, safe, inviting space that allows others to bare their soul to you.

The opportunity for profound healing exists during the month, but only if you’re willing to immerse yourself in the deepest, most vulnerable and most precious parts of yourself. You may also be the living Elixir that catalyzes profound healing in another. Don’t shy away from such a role, from such an honour. Step into it and be fully present. As healing is given, so shall it be received. As vulnerability expands, so healing shall be on deeper and more profound levels.
