Cosmic Tarot – Norbert Losche – 1986 – AGM-Urania | NewAgeHipster InstaOracle – New Age Hipster – 2017 | Sacred Creators Oracle – Chris Ann – 2016

Hey there Pisces,

How are you doing? Are you OK? I mean, really, are you doing OK? And by the way, there is no wrong or right answer to that question.

We’ve all been socialised to say “I’m doing great” even if it’s not true. We don’t want others to know how we really feel. Feeling bummed out is something all us humans feel, but for some reason, we teeter around the edges of these negative feelings, pretending we’re fine, just to keep the peace, not rock the boat or be seen as some saddo.

BTW – if you really, really are actually fine, that’s awesome.

Whatever you’re feeling right now is valid, no, it’s more than valid, it’s important. Your feelings want to be felt, and so please, feel them. Ignoring feelings never really ends well.

If they are painful, difficult or hard you may not want to feel them. But it’s good to feel what you feel, even if that is the feeling that you don’t want to feel your feelings. Yep, because sometimes that is the feeling that needs to be felt.

Anyway, the good news is that whatever you’re going through right now, whatever rain cloud you’ve been noticing in the sky is clearing, and very soon you will have your very own rainbow dancing through those clouds and making its way right on into your beautiful rainbow coloured aura.

This can be a moonth full of gratitude, noticing the joy and the good stuff, feeling happy to be alive and fully absorbing all the good stuff life has to throw at you.

If you choose to accept this basket full of rainbows and gratitude while you let yourself feel what’s asking to be felt, you’ll probably find that clouds clear and rainbows are easier to see.

With so much love, light and gratitude rainbows,

Circo Tarot – Marisa de la Peña -Tightrope Press – 2016

This season has you raring and ready to go in your characteristically fiery style, dear Aries. This is a time of great potential and you’re finding no shortage of inspiration. In fact, you’re feeling extra-enamored of just about everything. That sunset? Gorgeous. The book you’re reading? Life-changing. Your new friend? A magical kindred spirit. This kind of enthusiasm is contagious and will have people seeking you out left and right.

But what are you seeking? What are you hoping to create? Underneath all your drive and action is a deeper, more mystical experience you might initially have trouble communicating. After all, dreamy soul-searching isn’t your usual go-to. You’re much more comfortable leading the charge and pioneering innovative approaches. This has served you well and will continue to do so, but who’s to say a little mystery would get in the way?

The cards for this Pisces season urge you to tap into this underappreciated side of yourself. It is here that you’ll find the greater direction and motivation you need as you channel your boundless energy and creativity. Embrace the challenge of incorporating what may seem like opposites. Oil and vinegar may not mix together on their own, but give them a little shake and you have a delightful salad dressing. You too could be in the process of creating something that will make your life much more delicious. Don’t hold yourself back!

Your loving enthusiasm will give you the “shake” you need to really bring things together. This could be in a general sense – a project coming together after a lengthy planning stage – or more specifically – using your dreams and intuition to inspire a new creation. Either way, now is a wonderful time to pay attention to your subconscious and all its captivating and confusing messages. You have the charm, creativity, and charisma to transform your dreams into something beautiful and resplendent.

Taurus, all this watery Pisces energy might have your usually grounded self feeling pulled a little this way and that, unsure of where you’re meant to be directing your energy and unclear on whether your hard work is going to deliver the result you expect. The Six of Pentacles is, in some ways, like a mini-Wheel of Fortune, a reminder that all things in life are in flow, and sometimes they flow our way, sometimes they don’t. Some days we feel abundant and capable and rich in time and enthusiasm, and other days you drop your toast butter side down and miss the bus. C’est la vie, as they say!

If all that sounds like a pain, fear not because there’s something you can do to get yourself back into that sweet, sweet flow. This month, Taurus, it’s so important that you ask for what you need. It sounds simple, but we all know it can be a little tough to humble ourselves enough to state our needs and ask for support, guidance, resources, or inspiration. Given your fixed and earthy nature, you might be used to being the one who keeps the ship steady while people around you are battered by the storm. Let this be your reminder that you don’t have to take sole responsibility for keeping an even keel!

The Nine of Cups says that during Pisces season, the best gift you can give yourself is a need named and said aloud. Maybe you need a little more time to rest, or more resources for that big project, or more honesty from your beloved, or a little less time with that family member who drives you crazy. It’s time to pony up, Taurus, and state those needs out loud. Perhaps you’re feeling lost at sea, in need of a change and desperate for a sign about where to cast your nets next. The good news is, the North Star is there just waiting for a wish. Hit the deck, turn your gaze to the heavens, and ask. Ask, ask, ask.

The Moon Deck – Three Sisters – 2015 | The Fountain Tarot – 2014 | The Thoth Tarot – US Games – 1978

 Voracious, Loquacious Gemini,

You’re approaching a period of serious flow—your blocks and obstacles are about to be swept away by a torrent of raw, unbridled energy. As mid-winter transitions to early spring, the thaw gives rise to these waters, revealing a well of compassion that lay dormant this cold and unrelenting season. You felt the tightness, the tension, the frustration and the anger. You’re used to owning your freedom, and when it’s threatened, you engage your throat chakra and let the world know exactly what you think about that. And you did just this in the midst of the madness, in the midst of the mass closing-off, in the midst of a whirl of exclusion. You did not go gently into that good night, you did not shrink away nor did you make excuses.

You fought bravely, and you continue to. Yet the anger that fueled you is giving way to passion, to creativity in the face of adversity and to a promise that nothing can dim your indomitable will. Your transition from reaction to action has been nearly seamless, inspired by your dream of wholeness and awareness. You see new light on the horizon, a new opportunity to stretch and express yourself that very well may push you into a new evolutionary phase. You’re hungry, Gemini. If you’re able to get focused and follow through, you stand to accomplish some big things.

As you engage your body through this change, you surprisingly find your logic taking a back seat to your emotive faculties. You’ve stepped out and made yourself available to people, and you begin to feel the promise of openness and unity. Your heart softens. You see others facing the same struggles and obstacles as you, and you lay down your rapier wit and let people in. The joy, the embrace, the softness releases your tension and you intuitively feel that there are many ways to fight many battles and many different people fighting them. In a certain sense, you are reborn as the Earth is reborn, green and open to a gentler energy of generative change.

JUNE 22 – JULY 22

The Tarot of Marseille – Noblet – restored by Flornoy – Editions “letarot.com” | The Faeries’ Oracle – Froud – Fireside – 2000

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), water is the most yin of the five elements and thus associated with winter, the season for rest, renewal, and inward-journeying. Meanwhile, the metal element (here represented by the Two of Swords), is associated with autumn, and is considered the “mother” of water.

The Fawn is the thirty-fifth card of the Faerie Oracle – the sheer dynamism of the number “35” is befitting for this symbol of nature’s way, natural laws, and unstoppable life force, or “Qi” in Chinese medicine. Meanwhile, the more cooperative and less active “2” befits the role of the metal element in this spread: the womb, the home, a safe place from which pure creativity springs forth.

Of the three water signs, Cancer perhaps best embodies the qualities of its native element. Freely flowing and adaptive at times, intractable and insular at others. Remember that qualities are neither positive nor negative – they simply indicate patterns of energy that can be harnessed to serve your personal needs. The freedom of the Fawn and the reserve of the Two demonstrate duality as well as cooperation between opposites, as with Yin and Yang.

The vibrant, electric-blue Fawn invites you to fully embrace your connection with your natural element. You are emerging from a period of introspection and careful consideration, laying the foundation for new endeavours. You’ve worked hard to achieve a sense of security and shored up some healthy boundaries.

Our bodies are sixty percent water – so listen when your body speaks to you in the language of water. Is your body telling you it’s had enough of winter already and is ready for spring? Is it tired of holding onto old pains and fears that may have manifested in lower back pain or dried, stressed skin? Even though it may feel that winter’s not yet over, now is a good time to reconnect with nature and the outdoors. Allow yourself to dance freely, moved by Spirit and intuition.

The Lioness Oracle Tarot – León – 2016 | Wisdom of the Oracle – Baron-Reid – 2015

Leo!  We have officially hit Pisces season and while this is a watery month, full of illusion and fantasy, I am going to BEG you to not fall into the trap of not seeing things for how they really are.  Your “window”, or what you are seeing, this month is the 8 of Swords.  Starting out of the gate, you are already feeling the binds of restriction and what you feel like you CAN’T do.  This is just fear, dear Leo.

Your mind has taken it upon itself to go into protection mode and keep you at a standstill, afraid of moving forward toward your goals and dreams.  The situations you are facing are only contentious because you have conceded that what you want isn’t available to you and that there are obstacles standing hard and firm in your way.

I have news for you.  It is YOU standing in your own way.  Sometimes it’s easier to believe there is a boulder in front of you, causing you to take a pause, then to recognize that it’s actually a web of anxiety that you are not ready to slice through.

The “door” this month, or the action you should take, is the 8 of Pentacles.  This is the sign to continue to work on your dreams and goals, steadily improving them, and gaining experience and knowledge on how best to apply to what you are reaching for.  You HAVE talent and now it’s time to put up or shut up!  8’s are all about movement and while you are perceiving a standstill situation, in all actuality, you are being called to look at things in a different way and proceed toward the finish line.

With the advice of “Chop Wood”, take some time and distance yourself from your current goal.  Rejuvenate your mind with meditation, mindless chores, or activities that don’t require rigorous mental involvement.  Getting into a place of “mental automaticity” will allow it to rest and start to put the pieces together for your next plan of action toward your goal.  Step away, breathe, relax, and prepare yourself for the most brilliant “a-ha” moment; a breakthrough is coming!

QUEEN of PENTACLES Reversed (Marshmallow Root)

6 of SWORDS Reversed (Vervain)

Ponder this :

  • What turns you on?
  • Do I give myself permission to indulge in and ask for my deepest, hottest, greatest wants, needs and desires?
  • Do I keep thinking the grass is greener on the other side, all the while missing out on what the lush landscape I already inhabit has to offer?
  • Do I keep looking outward from one perspective rather than looking inward to see myself and my perspective differently?

« Forget the self and you will fear nothing, in whatever level or awareness you find yourself to be. » ~ Carlos Castaneda

A couple of astrological happenings that went into effect the past couple of weeks that colour the month for us :

VENUS IN ARIES (3 Feb ~ 2 Apr)

The hunt is on … and the hunt is the turn on. We may feel hot, spicy and fired up with courage to go after who (and want) we want in the bedroom, in the kitchen, in the boardroom, on the beach, behind the tree along the hiking trail. Nothing is likely to get the juices flowing than to be willing to ask for what you want in the moment, and then to lie, sit, lounge back and enjoy. Being careful not to slip into selfishness, enjoy discovering and expressing what turns you on, asking for what you want, indulging in personal desires. Be adventurous, be passionate in all (and everyone) that you want and do. Enjoy the passion of the moment rather than worrying about or trying to turn something into a longterm thing.

Use this period to contemplate beliefs and expectations. Are you really headed in the direction you want to be ? Are you operating from habit, fear, external influence rather than knowing who you really are, what you really want, and how you want to go about pursuing and achieving it ? Take advantage of this period when larger ideas and bigger projects might slow down or even stall by being willing to pause, rein in and do more listening during this time. Paying attention to the smaller details, the finer aspects, rather than trying to go too big or push too hard or too fast. Smaller and closer to home is likely where you’ll find what you need for now.

And what might our cards offer us in how to best benefit from these astrological energies wafting through?

Venus in Aries

Herbal Ally : Marshmallow Root

When it comes to love, sex, and how we connect with and interact with others, the reversed Queen of Pentacles turns the attention and focus back on ourselves rather than worrying about, tending to or prioritising the wants, needs and desires of others. We don’t need to be in it for the long haul right now. Instead, hour the impulsive craving of instant gratification rather than trying to take the time and put the energy into establishing something more serious and long term. Have fun giving yourself permission to be the centre of attention, asking for and allowing others to do your bidding to bring you pleasure in the ways, forms and means that you desire.

This is an opportunity to be present with and heal some longstanding wounds and fears that are rooted in how we lost ourselves in being of service to others, diminishing our own wants, needs, desires for serving at the pleasure of those in others. This may also be an opportunity to sort through and move beyond some deeply internalised and stuck body issues that have held us back from accepting the possibility that we can be and are sexual beings.

Reclaim what it means to be free, uninhibited, going beyond the boundaries, limitations, restrictions we’re used to operating (chafing) under. There’s a vast array of worldly pleasures and delights that await just outside those borders … and now is the time to venture forth to explore and experience what they feel like, taste like, smell like, sound like as the stimulate every fibre of our bodies.

Jupiter Retrograde in Libra

Card : 6 of SWORDS Reversed

Herbal Ally : Vervain

This isn’t about discovering what awaits on some far off shore that we have to find our way to. It’s about a period of time when we’re right where we need to be. And if we can allow ourselves to see things differently rather than how we’ve constructed the reality we trapped ourselves into believing and maintaining, then we will see that there is much more than meets the eye that can offer us greater insight, depth and possibility than what we thought only existed somewhere else.

We need to establish a more defined inner clarity before we can see where to go and what to do externally. Use this time to shed congested, outdated ways of thinking, to work through issues that contribute to carrying around and being defined by guilt, shame, anger, blame that keep us stuck in a past that may have existed at one time, but needs to not be what determines and defines our vision of the future.

Instead of looking outside of ourselves for what we think we need to move forward, change things, make things different or better – which merely gives away our personal power to something outside of us – contract into yourself. (Re)connect with and bring forth the potential that gently nudges its existence into our consciousness, there all along awaiting acknowledgment to be put into action. How to do that will become more clear and more successful in the next air sign, Gemini, in June).

The Swiss Deck – U.S. Games – 1972

While on the one hand balance and rationality, Libra, at the same time let’s do a slightly chaotic spread and see what’s underneath…

This could be a great time to enjoy a little solitary reflection. Why so? Well it’s that Piscean time of year, the last of the winter, the hour before dawn, just before new birth. We have a whole month before the Sun crosses the celestial equator from south to north and spring begins in the the northern hemisphere. Why should that matter to you?

Well … because when the Sun is at zero degrees Aries at the equinox on or around March 21st (described above), it will oppose your birth sign for about 30 days. Opposition is an aspect of maximum stimulation. Have you noticed new spring energy shaking things up before? Look out for it this year!

All that is a long way of saying, why not go with the flow and use this month to get still and quiet, gather your strength, connect in the silence and the dark with the excellent potential of your own essence. The Hermit can assist. Vipassana or Bikram or Chorasinging. As the saying goes ‘whatever works for you’

And once you’ve connected with the stillness, use La Mort to shed any habits that no longer serve you. Take a look at your emotional landscape; does the chalice need to go the right way up, or should you take the lid off and let anything toxic drain away?

The eight of coins signals stability; all the more so if you’ll do some inner work. And achievement. What is the project this spring? This year? And how will it be different from other times?

Saturn has the answer to this last question, and Saturn rules The World card.

See the wreath of leaves and flowers? Take the last of winter to prepare for your emergence and then you could become, like Shakespeare says, “Thou that art now the world’s fresh ornament and only herald to the gaudy spring!”

(Sorry about that. Can’t help it, I’m an actor)

The Wooden Tarot – A.L. Swartz – 2012

Scorpios, your freedom comes with a promise as sure as The Sun.

This may be hard to believe when faced with a landscape of marked by the Three of Swords and Six of Cups turned over, but just as the Knight of Bones above, you’ve got grit and fierce determination that is not always credited to you. The intensity of your sign is often tied to your passion and the ferocity of your emotions, but what can be forgotten is that there is little as hard to smother as a passion that comes from the root. This is what moves the Knight of Bones spirit in you.

The Three of Swords are not another new heartbreak or tragic ending. This is the phoenix magic you have always harnessed better than anyone else. The arrows going through the heart and right out, once dripping with your heart’s blood, are no longer harmful to you. What’s done is done. Coupled with the Six of Cups it is a reminder that those past hurts, once dealt with, must be allowed to heal. For you, the re-examining of old wounds will do you no favors; the benefit of your intensity is that you dive so deep while in the throes of it that there’s no deeper to go.

So leave it there, in the deep.

Clinging to the past trying to work out whether there might have been a different path taken, a treasure missed, will feel like a falsehood told too often to your spirit. The refusal to release the old is much easier than the courage to step into the new- even pain can become comfortable given enough time. I urge you to walk with your phoenix blessed boldness to move into the unfamiliar and the transformation promised there.  Let creativity, desire, and love take up the space that nostalgia clogs up in your daily practice. The Sun keeps its promise each day and challenges you to make one to yourself to honor the expression of your light, whatever that may be.

What will be the promise you keep to yourself with each sunrise?

The Linestrider’s Journey – Thompson – 2014

Queen of Swords + Ace of Swords + Seven of Wands

Is it a battle of wits? Bidding your time? Sharpening your skills? Maybe it’s a combination of all of the above. This season is going to challenge you mentally, so prepare to bring your fiery, passionate drive to a finely sharpened point, and launch it with everything that you’ve got.

The Queen of Swords knows when to set their emotions aside, knows when to turn to their cool logic to sort through all the bullshit. Look at the Queen’s face in this deck. Absolutely poised, all in and ready to do what needs to be done.

And look to your Ace of Swords. Something has been building up and is here for you to take it to the next level. It’s going to challenge you, perhaps in an unexpected manner, a calculated event that will arise. But you’ve got this, you gorgeous Archer. True, your preferred method is aim and fire. But try aim and wait, wait, wait until you absolutely must strike. And then fire at will.

These Seven of Wands indicate a desperate fight, but again, ready yourself before shooting off. Your resolve and determination will get you through anything, use it wisely. Time it properly. Will it to be used for your gain.

This season is going to be an impactful one and you can do it. It will take more patience and planning than you may be used to, but in the chaos that can be Pisces season, it will serve you well.

The CBD Tarot de Marseille 2010

“You can’t be the vulnerable, transparent, raw person required to be an artist, and then cover that stuff up and meet the world with some kind of armor on. It just doesn’t go.”

― Idina Menzel

Your hands and heart  will be joined in seeking, and taking, the next big step. That which moves you ever-closer to a practical goal and one which delights you. Maybe you’ll explore unfamiliar territory, without the experience to recognize the abundance around you and without the experience to feel confident about what the next step ought to be. Even so, the uncertainty will not be enough to deter you from finding what you need.

The precious…
(Said in the Gollum voice.)

You will be guided by the gentlest part of yourself. The artist within, the wise one. Your intuition will be working overtime this month, singing clearly and lending you clarity. Let this version of you that has already succeeded embolden you. Will you write a letter from your future more prosperous self? Will you find the master who has already walked the path that you wish and learn from them? Will you open to a creative desire that you previously set aside in the name of being practical, responsible, or serious enough?

Will you do all of these things?

This is the month to uncage the heart, to dislodge the belief that held you stuck in the grind for so long. Free the sword from the stone of your being. Let joy mend the places where that old belief wounded you. Slowly, if needed, unchain your heart and go unfettered toward your joy. Remember to rest in that mending. Cradle the wandering mind. It may not be easy.

Excitement can grip us just as tightly as anxiety. And in our pursuit of what feels good, accomplishment, exhilaration, a boosted confidence, we encourage the deathly squeeze. Going faster or harder. Being more practical, responsible, or serious about our passion. Let ease well up from the core of you like uncontainable laughter.

King of Swords | King of Pentacles | Birth | Confirmation

Intelligent and thoughtful Aquarius,

It is time to hunker down and get focused! Rule your life with an iron fist. Get organized! Now is a time for you to make big advances in terms of your finances, soul mission, and self-knowledge. It is a time for you to soar and really make good use of your assets – your quick wit, your analytical mind, and your cool, calm, collected demeanor. You’re a wealth of knowledge and experience. It is time for this to be put to use and shared with others.

Organizational skills are a must at this time as you will be taking on more responsibilities and perhaps even a leadership role. You’re well prepared for this – just be mindful to not let an overt sense of pride or ego to take root. Stay humble. Spirit wants you to remain practical in your expectations to keep making steady progress. Know that you’re protected in your pursuits. Remember to stay grounded and connected to your physical life – your home, family, friends, health, etc. Be as understanding and loving as possible to others. Don’t allow your focus on career to be such that it is the detriment to your personal relationships, as these help to keep you grounded.

Spirit is sending you a confirmation that what you have been birthing is finally coming to form. You’re on the right path, taking the right steps. Don’t you feel it? The seedlings planted months ago are beginning to breach the surface of the cold hard ground and into the warm, loving, light of the sun! Move forward with a sense of grace and humility. When a mother holds their child in their arms after painful hours of labor, they does not brag about how hard they pushed or how much they sweat – they’re just in awe and gratitude of the creature they finally get to hold in their arms. A gift from the Universe. Keep pushing and acknowledge blessings upon receipt. As focused as you are on your goals, don’t lose your sense of tenderness.

From my soul to yours,
xo Ariel
