Linestrider Tarot by Siolo Thompson

My darling Aries, how is your warrior energy feeling? Did you give your season your all to everyone around you? Good, and now I hope you are prepared to bring this energy inward. We all know when Taurus season is here, there is a luxurious, homey, treat yourself vibe (often paired with a “b*tch don’t kill my vibe”).

So naturally, you are being called by the Page AND Queen of Pentacles to keep your head up, your heart open, and to root deep into the things that make you feel at home, that make you feel loved, that make you feel nourished. Bring your energy to yourself, you need it.

And look, the Wheel of Fortune is here again, this time paired with the Three of Wands. These are signaling a change ahead, a shift coming. So take your time, mentally and physically, to get your grounded, get your support in order, get yourself taken care of. You will need to be well rested, well taken care of, so take your super driven energy and drive it right back around toward your well being.

A note about jade stones: these are typically seen as the best healing, grounding, and wealth bringing stones. This stone literally fell out of my bag as I was asking myself what Taurus season will bring for us Aries energy folk. So trust, focus, ground, and heal any of the cuts and bruises from Aries season as you launch yourself into a season of peaceful inner work

I’m switching it up a bit, Taurus. This will be a reading for Mind, Body, Spirit. I’ll draw one card for each so we can examine these three areas for this cycle of Siobhan’s Mirror’s ‘Scopes. I’m using the Tarot of the Bones by Lupa.

Mind represents our intellect, our inspirations, our dreams.

This is our mental status for this time. The World is a great card here, darling Bulls. So many opportunities present themselves for you to engage in mental acrobatics that will pay off. See a process at work that needs tweaking? Hit the keyboard or grab a pen and paper to solve that intricate mess. All efforts applied to the area of creativity and communication will benefit you. Remember to apply yourself accordingly.

Now to Body which of course is our physical selves.

The Ace of Wands uses a leg bone which reminds us to “shake a leg.” You need to roust yourself into more action. Not all of us can run a marathon. For some movement is confined to a chair. But we can all look into new ways to engage ourselves physically no matter what may “limit” us. Personally, I don’t like to say I’m limited. I’m challenged but not limited. And this Ace calls to us to find our passions physically and go for them. So put some passion out there for your physical self and shake it up.

Spirit, that realm of ether, of the energy of creation, of things outside of us, is the last position.

The Two of Cups is a love letter from the Universe. The message here is “If you come towards Me, I will meet you  halfway.” This is a call to deepen your relationship with Deity however you see that energy. For me, it’s the Universe. It Who Creates All if you will. There is a deep sense of longing in the Two of Cups that must be answered. Write a love letter to your Higher Self. Make tea and pour a cup for your Deity. Become an active lover of life. Let Spirit fill you up again.

Pagan Otherworlds Tarot, 2016, Uusi Design Studio.

This is a season of inner-work for you, dear Gemini. You’re in a breezy, meandering mood, maybe even feeling a twinge of dissatisfaction. All the blossoming of Spring has you contemplating what’s next. You’re feeling like a plant who’s outgrown its pot. It’s time for more, but you’re not sure what direction you want to stretch into yet.

Your challenge for the upcoming weeks is to consider the ways you seek change in your life. Are you striving for control? Finding motivation in your dissatisfaction? Single-mindedly pursuing a very specific outcome? Sometimes our ambition can make us charge ahead like a general when we really need to stop and smell the roses, gently considering our next move.

Take the time to tease out the source of your itch for change. Particularly where outside pressures – you don’t have enough, there’s not enough time, etc. – diverge from your deeper, soul-calling.

Strength inspires you to take a deep breath and approach these challenges with patience, kindness, and an open mind. All these cups tell us that there’s a deep emotional undercurrent to your restlessness. In this case, focusing on how you’d like to feel will guide you towards the best options. Seek out emotional fulfillment instead of the distracting busyness of mindless action.

There’s a great deal of poignant beauty in store for you this Taurus season as you delve into these parts of yourself. Stay tuned for graceful synchronicities and touching signs. Spending some time cultivating an understanding of your ambition will open you up to blossoming tenderness. If this feels a little vulnerable, embrace it. You’re in the right place if you’re feeling effusive, emotional, and reconnected with innocent joy.

Your goal for this time is to become your own best ally and protector as you bravely open up to a more meaningful and blossoming life.

NewAgeHipster InstaOracle – Vix – 2017

Dearest Cancer,

Are you feeling tired? Because it kind of looks like you’ve been doing a lot. Whether you’ve been doing a lot physically or not doesn’t matter. Energetically you’ve been doing a lot.

You’ve been astral traveling at night, sending love and good thoughts to people you know need it, and you’ve kind of been acting like the mamma of the cosmos – looking after everyone else’s energy before your own.

It’s commendable in many ways because it means you’re being a very good human. But in other ways, it’s a big message that you’re putting your own energy at about number 88 on the list of things to look after.

There are times in life when we need to send a lot of energy to people and situations, and other times when we really need to focus on our own energy. Right now, you’re being called to find a place of balance with that.

Although there are things going on right now that need your energetic attention and people who do need good vibes, you need to know you’re also one of them.

The Four of Swords encourages you to find some serious downtime this moonth. Downtime means something different to everyone, but whatever it is for you, you need to do it with your phone on flight mode. Watching TV and Instagramming at the same time doesn’t count as downtime.

Less multitasking, more focus on chilling.

You can also try delegating some of your energy tasks to Angels or other beings of light or deities that you work with. If there is someone who needs love send some Angels. If a situation is stressing you out, send in your spiritual crew to sort it out for you. You don’t need to take it all on your own shoulders, my friend.

With so much love, light and chilled out vibes

The Tarot of Marseille of Jean Noblet (Paris c.1650) restored by Jean-Claude Flornoy.
Published by: Editions “letarot.com”.

This month’s message for Leo is: Stop trying to run the show – things are out of your hands. Keep your head down and avoid engaging with drama, because at the end of the day, things will turn out in your favour.

Well, easier said than done! Leo isn’t one to stay in the wings and wait out the juiciest part of the melodrama. You’d rather face-plant on stage and be applauded for your daring, plus your comedic skills would save you anyway.

By the way, the drama in question is likely to involve legalities, paperwork, contracts … misfired emails and Facebook feuds at the least.

So, let’s assume that drama is inevitable and Leo has no intention of staying away from it. There is a way to soften the blows, and that’s to know when it’s time to declare a truce and accept stalemate, if not defeat. Doesn’t a tie sound easier to take than a loss? At that point, it’ll be clear that there’s nothing left to be gained from the situation, so why not graciously withdraw and take the higher ground?

The next step is to unleash that legendary Leo charm and turn ten crossed swords into ten golden coins. Perhaps it’s your tenacity and bravery that will be rewarded. Or you may find that others, who were previously against you, suddenly fall over themselves trying to make amends.

Try to remember that a catfight is just that – a temporary setback, a minor spat – not worth losing sleep over, or taking too seriously. You’re golden, and you’ll win without trying.

One can’t live mindfully without being enmeshed in psychological processes that are around us.

― Philip Zimbardo

At the center of these four cards is a nursery, the landscape on which you mother your deepest, or highest, self. This self is aligned, aided by circumstance and appropriately focused on practical and attainable goals. But that’s not the end of the story, is it?

Nor even the beginning. This story begins with you cast as a single thread wound up in the grand knot that makes up your reality. Do you feel a part of something greater? Is it the pinch and constriction of purpose? More likely that you long for the time when you could easily distinguish yourself from your circumstances. Do you just want out?

It is popular, especially in metaphysical communities, to talk in terms of spiritual shearing.

We should let go.
We should detach.
We should recognize the good and the bad.

There is power in duality. Categories tell us what, how, and who to be. They let us recognize the “others”. They show us where the comfort is. But how do we detach from our own fabric? How do we let go of anything if we are everything?

The thing is, steady and discerning Virgos, you cannot jailbreak your psyche.

Clenched as you are, in the braid of your passion, let’s not forget, this is what art feels like. Your life is the great work. This is your garden. This is the work that you crave in the service of your vision. Tension is part of the process.

This Taurus season, you will be tempted to retreat into a smaller space, with fewer responsibilities, like a flower blooming in reverse. You will need to discover what really needs your motherly care and attention, which sprouts need your green thumb.

A delay, stalemate or stuckness may entice you to draw a line in the sand. It may appear as if you need to make a black or white decision based on the desire for escape. Should you find yourself provoked, sink into the sensuality of the mundane.

Manage your choices like so many seeds, only trimming what needs to be trimmed to make space for the roots. Overwhelm feels like a sign to do less but sometimes, instead,  it’s a sign to do differently.

You were born to tend details just like this.

Did you know that Taurus is ruled by Venus too? Both signs understand the importance of appreciating beauty in life and take time for art, pleasure, and comfort. Yet, where Libra’s can get indecisive, Taurus is stoically sure and determined – sometimes to a fault. Let the energy of this Taurus season be a grounding force to help you make decisive plans for your future. Oh yes, dear Libras you are being called to get to work.

As I was shuffling for this scope, the Page of Wands jumped from the deck begging for your attention. She wants you to jump, with the utmost enthusiasm, headfirst into your passions and dreams. What in your heart of hearts do you want for yourself and your future? Now is the time to be bold, to add fuel to your inner spark of inspiration, and go for it.

Now is the time to expand and grow. Make a plan and start taking the necessary steps towards your dreams. Lovingly devote yourself to the art and skills you wish to cultivate and need to make your vision a reality. Build a routine around your goals and stick with it. The energy of Taurus could not be more apt to aid you in committing to your own success.

May this season keep you from your more frivolous tendencies that distract from your long-term goals. Beware of wishing your life away. Beware of trading the hard work of moving towards personal fulfillment for instant gratifications or quick fixes. That means moderating your drinking because you can’t afford the hangover. It means not buying that cute ass shirt because you need to be saving money for your project. It means not binge-watching that show because you are devoted to growing your craft, building your skill set, and chasing your dreams.

This is the season for you to get passionately serious, committed, and devoted to creating the life you wish to live, the art you’ve been called to make, and the person you most wish to be.

Take it seriously, but remember to have fun and lovingly connect with your passions and your work. Remember that we weave magic through the work that we do.

Blessed be.

The Good Tarot by Colette Baron-Reid Hay House, 2017
Wisdom of the Oracle by Colette Baron-Reid Hay House, 2015

Treasure Island | 9 of Earth | Call | Empress

To my intensely deep, loving, and ambitious fellow Scorpios,

This Taurus season, focus on uncovering the beautiful gifts and enormous bounty that life has brought to you. You’ve been trying to decipher the mysterious treasure map of your soul purpose. Constantly searching, traveling, and striving to achieve your goals – to find your Treasure Island.

It may be slow moving at times however, you’re tacking on the miles! You’ve survived through the fog, stormy seas, sea monsters, and looting pirates. Time to open the chest of riches and jewels that lie buried within your heart and soul!

Gratitude & Appreciation will come to the forefront this season. Appreciate the bountiful life you’ve been blessed with – home, family, friends, the pleasures of the physical world. Although you’ve been working diligently towards your goals, there comes a time when it’s even more important to value the strides you’ve already made. Take the blindfold off your eyes and see your wishes made manifest!

With several planets in retrograde this season, Reflection will be of utmost importance in order for the progress you’ve made to continue making headway. Now it is time to reflect on the journey. Dig deep. See how far you’ve come!

This time of pause is best spent connecting with your angels, guides, and loved ones in Spirit in order to navigate this time most effectively. Spirit calls you to face your truth and uncovers your highest values for you to truly be able to connect the dots. Spread your wings and heed the call of your soul, my powerful Scorpio!

Although you may be tired and weary from the journey thus far, Spirit encourages you to use this time to rest and recover. Taurus season is the perfect time for this! Self-Care is the key this season to keep you fueled and inspired on your journey. This will keep your spirit fertile, nurtured, and nourished in order for you to continue planting seeds that will grow into life-giving abundance. Pull out your inner Empress and be tender and loving to yourself. Take pleasure in experiences that bring you comfort, beauty, and warmth.

From my soul to yours,
xo Ariel

“Animal Totem Tarot” by Leeza Roberts, Llewellyn Publications
“Earth Magic” by Steven D. Farmer, Hay House

Sagittarians may find themselves feeling less than feisty during this Taurus cycle. Being the dreamers that we are, have we focused too much on the dream without doing the hard work?

With all cards being in reverse, the work needed begins within.

What we need is a little  Earth Magic and the Shaman shows us the way. The Shaman has been through many cycles and has seen it all. They are the mediator between the spirit world and the earth. They remind us that no matter what our wound, healing comes from within. They are charged with relieving our suffering. They show us that our first priority is to heal our spiritual wound, which in its deepest sense, is a feeling of being separated from God/Spirit. They bring us the grounding we need to find peace.

The work we need to do begins within ourselves. It’s an inside job. Look to our relationship with Spirit. Once we begin to heal our emotional wound, we can turn it around and get the job done and we find that the cards suddenly turn around. We find JOY with the 3 of Cups, COMPLETION with the 9 of Wands and CONTROL OF OUR EMOTIONS with the King of Cups.

What can we do to make our vision reality? Maybe we’ve had our heads in the clouds long enough.  It’s time to come back to Earth and make it happen. Ground and be present.

The Original Rider-Waite Tarot, 1993 edition, William Rider Ltd

Losing control over a situation isn’t easy. This is especially true for the Cappys in the house because ambition has always led you to reach far into your personal agency to change the conditions of your outer world. To get to where you want to go, certain things need to line up. And you are always the impetus behind making those changes. Capricorn’s greatest strength is the ability to set your sights on a goal, and then work your ass off to get there.

But as the sun moves into Taurus, it seems that the Universe is dishing out some very hard lessons about relinquishing that which you cannot control. Security comes with the knowledge that you are the master/mistress of your kingdom. You decide the rules. You initiate. You set boundaries. When those boundaries are crossed, you lay down the law of the land.

But lately that approach hasn’t been working out for you, and it feels like you are losing the very essence of who you are.

It’s an admirable thing to take charge. But this month is all about rethinking your leadership style. On the one hand, making all of your own decisions means that things get done quickly. Reaching consensus takes time, and you have little patience for that.

But assume for just one second that maybe you don’t know what’s best for everyone all of the time. Do you really want to risk leading your people down the wrong path? Are you willing to shoulder the consequences for a bad decision?

If you’re not accustomed to sharing power, now is a good time to initiate whatever inner changes need to be made so that you can enjoy a healthy partnership. Get a second opinion, or find a partner to work whom you can respect on equal terms. If this makes you feel vulnerable, you’re doing something right. Remind yourself that it takes a lot of strength to relinquish control. Compromise is your friend.

Rider Waite, first published 1911

As we move further into northern hemisphere spring and Taurus season, the King of Pentacles is happy in his sign. His element is earth and his mode is fixed, he is Taurean all the way. He is all about; stability, nurture, good management of resources, comfort and prosperity. Sound good?

Ah, but how to achieve this happy state?

Aquarius has two planetary rulers: Saturn and Uranus. The energies are very different. Saturn loves form. Uranus loves freedom.

Look at this spread and notice if we interpret it from the point of view of the four directions we have a water card in the Air position, an air card in the Water position and although there is a fire card in the Fire position – yes, but it’s the four of wands: Venus in Aries. Venus is in detriment here. No matter, Venus spreads beneficence wherever she goes. And it’s worth mentioning that the 3rd decan of Aries falls under the rulership of the King of Pentacles. Let’s note too, that Venus rules Taurus.

My point is, there are both polarities and correspondences here, none particularly obvious. Saturnine and Uranian both. Maybe this is the time to reverse the saying “Cool heads, warm hearts.” i.e. Let a little positive feeling blend with your thinking, accept the grace offered in the four of cups, then, allow some rationality in your emotional life as the Page of Wands cooly observes what’s going on.

Uranian energy is not tame. It is original.

Saturn gives discipline and after lessons learned, is the master of technique.

This is a great combination for innovation. All science advances in this way, all art, all wisdom. Let your King of Pentacles command the creative forces in your psyche. Deploy Uranian visioning and demand Saturnine manifestation to make your dreams come true!

The Vision Quest Tarot, AGM-Urania, 1998

Sensitive, Compassionate Pisces,

You are sensitive to the pain of the world—you feel its deep resonance on an intimate, personal level. Recent events have seen you connecting with this sadness and wondering what you can do to soothe and restrain it. Yet, the world turns as it turns—you do not drive its turning, and as it takes a path that firmly opposes everything you value and believe in, you’re left exhausted and bewildered and unsure of how to proceed. Your voice, hoarse from shouting, craves rest, but you won’t be silenced in the midst of this confusion. You wish to bring order to the wildness of the world, but you’re questioning the extent of your agency.

As within, so without. If you’re curious where to turn, turn in. It may not be the message you want, but it’s the message you need—consider your own chaos, your own imbalanced actions, your own errors of behavior and judgment. What can you do to bring compassion to your personal experience? What can you do today to exemplify your values and act in accordance with your highest good? In what small ways can you be kinder to your partner, your friend, your mother, your child? What can you do to be the light you crave to see in the world?

In this reading, we move from confusion to order to love. I’m reminded of the progression of an argument from conflict to compromise to forgiveness. Moving through it is an exercise in attaining balance, in considering what’s being disrupted and how to bring conditions back to equilibrium. Your strongest ally in facing this month’s obstacles and bringing them into balance is love—love of self, love of others, and love of the world even in its imperfection. Choosing to love things as they are, does not, as some protest, mean surrendering to the work of change. Rather, loving something for what it is, deepens our commitment to see it succeed and thrive. Although we may not always agree with the way things are, we can choose to see them with wide, open eyes. The clearer and purer our gaze, the easier it is for us to see the path that lies before us and act in ways that answer to the deepest calling of our heart.
